  1. oh for got to say my son has put in a claim for DLA, recomended by his specialist.
  2. Thank you both for your replies This afternoon I rang the DSS and spoke to a very nice lady who was more than willing to help me. Although you are quite right Erika she did say she was sure that they should of informed me that I could claim for the family premium as I am classed as a single parent, its not much but every penny counts here. Having to lose £52 a week is a lot especially when I am also paying back a social loan at £14 per week plus on top of that I have to pay a top up on my rent at £16 per week That leaves me £40 pounds for food shopping gas and electric water tv licence and other bills .. if it wasnt for my DLA I could not possibly survive. My son how ever has now found alternative accomadation and has also been out of the household for over a week due to the fact that we have had swine flu here and I didnt want him to get it because of his illness, but The lady at the DSS said I may not get my premium back dated to then if at all. which is also a worry now as its going to take at least 12 weeks for my chb and ctc to get sorted. Why its going to take that long I have no idea, but its something to do with the fact that it is a transitional claim not a straightforward one.. can any one tell me if this is right? once this has been soeted I will get a decision on whether I can get child tax credits
  3. Your welcome, just dont get disheartened if you get knocked back, just keep fighting until they start to listen, I often think that these people especially in the council think its their money they are trying to bleed out of people. In my opinion bailiffs should not be used for council debts unless they are satisfied 100% that the debtor is unwilling to pay not that they cannot pay through hardship.
  4. Bailiffs work on the assumption that your everyday joe knows nothing about bailiff law. When writing to these people let them know that you know your rights and what can and cannot be charged, let them know you are in contact with the council and are in discussions with them with regards to illegal charges/levies etc that they have bestowed on you. And tell them you are prepared to take action against them via the courts if they dont resolve the matter correctly. Dont be afraid of these people because thats how they get their money by intimadation and lies. Good luck, lots of people are here behind you 100% to help you out.
  5. I was living on my own for quite a number of years when my 15 year old niece came to live with me due to family problems at home. For the first few weeks I didnt claim for her and wasnt really going to as I felt I could cope with the money I was recieving on benefits.. Then my son (26) became seriously ill and had to move back home, this was on a temporary basis until he found alternative accomadation as I did not have the room for him. He signed on, this was the first time he has signed on as he has always worked since he was 15. He has signed on as sick from my address. I informed all the right people ie housing benefit income support as he is signing on as sick and that this was temporary , and was told that this would not effect my benefits. A week later my disability premium was stopped. thats a little over £50 a week out of my benefit, which has left me just over £70 a week to live on for me and my niece to eat, pay bills and pay rent etc. This has forced my hand to claim child benefit for my niece and child tax credits so I can survive. I do have my DLA and I have now had to use that to pay bills instead of using it for my car, specialised treatments which I cannot get on the NHS, and for my carer which I have now had to stop because I cannot afford to pay them. I cannot understand why they took away my disability premium, I have called and asked them and all they could say is that I have some one living with me over the age of 18 regardless of who it is and why they are there, surely this cannot be right. I am now awaiting to see if I can appeal against this, but in the mean time I have been left to struggle with what I am left with at the moment. Child benefit have told me its going to take another 12 weeks at least to process my claim and with out that I cannot claim for full rent or for child tax credits.. does any one know if or how I can speed up this process. Thanks in advance
  6. They can levy a microwave unless you dont have a cooker. They cannot levy on any other white goods. they can levy on dining table and chairs. they cannot levy on childrens items, TV belongs to them dosnt it thats if you had kids of course. They can levy on duplicate items also but thats a debatable subject
  7. oh forgot to say they cannot clamp or levy on a car that is on lease, hire purchase, Disabled registerd or showing a blue badge or for the use of work purposes ie works vehicle.
  8. Bailiffs are now charging VAT on their fees ?!?! Thats a new one on me.. hope they are VAT registered
  9. sorry to say this, hell no im not, but i wouldnt trust a bailiff or his/hers company as far as I could throw them, they are no better than an organised crime syndicate, They dont know the regs/codes of conducts of their own business's, they lie through their backsides to save their own skins and are vultures who prey on the weak and vunerable. Even you 'consumer justice' has got it wrong in part. May I suggest you go back and read up on bailiff law before you give out advice, albeit in good faith.
  10. The CSA are a ruthless bunch indeed and will push and push until they get what they want. any way here is a link that may help you out.. good luck FAQ - Appealing against our decisions - Child Support Agency
  11. Call the police NOW!! and report this incident, bailiff or not no one unless a warrant is issued by the courts is allowed to break into your home or even attempt it. If you have not had a notice from the courts then please report this incident straight away.
  12. I totally agree with you and she has in the past month been treated at that surgery as a temp patient whilst another registration form was put in, but they cannot find any record of that one either. I am now just wondering whether it comes down to cost of the medication and who else are they going to refuse to treat for this swine flu. Am I right in saying that the surgery has to foot the bill for it? by the way two more members of my family in the same house hold are now showing symptons of this, and they are registered at this surgery.
  13. Hi Fox I too had PCOS, Unfortunately for me I had to have both taken away but not before they tried a small proceedure called an ovariansectomy, its where they basically quarterize the ovaries so you have a better chance of concieving, which I did on several occasions unfortunately I lost those due to other medical problems. Im with the others saying that the BF if not ready now will probebly not be ready in the future. However has your friend thought along the lines of having some eggs frozen for when she finds some one who will be ready, Im not sure how much it costd but im sure it will be worth it in the long run.. I wish her well
  14. it has been confirmed that my granddaughter has swine flu they have started her on tamiflu and a course of antibiotics as she has also a chest infection, she is very dehydrated and if she dosnt start drinking they are thinking along the lines of getting her into hospital, I am very cross at this doctors behavior espesially as I have been with this surgery for almost 20 years. The doctor my granddaughter did see has also expressed his anger at the way this situation has been treated, under the circumstances the doctor could of seen her whether at home or at the surgery to get her treated as soon as possible instead of making her wait over 4 hours to get finally seen by some one.. I shall be transferring from that surgery first thing in the morning and a complaint has gone in
  15. Thank you for replying so soon but I dont think I made myself very clear here. We knew we couldnt take her to the surgery, the staff told us that from the begining but whether she was seen there or here at home by the doctor, it was the doctor who called here and refused to see or treat her because she had not been fully registered at that surgery because of their fault in losing the registration forms, which the last one may be being processed due to the registation staff being on holiday. They had already seen her two weeks ago admitting their mistake so they saw her then, why refuse to treat her now. Surely doctors cannot refuse to treat/see some one especially a baby of 13 months and it was the dotors refusal not to come to the house not the staff they were willing to get her treated. Just to clear this up, the on call doctor refused to see my grandchild, it is a NHS run practice and like I said the staff knew they were at fault at losing the forms and were willing to book her to see the on call doctor. Many thanks for your advice
  16. How can this happen, can a surgey be allowed to do this. Quick run down here The baby has been registered to this surgery twice and twice they have lost the forms, the mother, who is my daughter and myself are both registered to this surgery and we both live in the same household, baby was registered at the same time as the mother, but as I said they have lost the forms twice so technically she is not registered there but they have seen her in the past few weeks whilst the peperwork is being dealt with.. We live less than a hundred yards away from the surgery, in fact we can see the building from the front gate thats how close we are to it. My granddaughter has become very ill over the past 24 hours, high temp 38.2, upset tummy sickness, bad cough and very weezy, runny nose off her food and drink and is very listless, we are going by what the NHS Direct website is stating that she has all the symptoms of Swine flu, plus the fact we are in an area that has just had a huge out break of it with at least several children in most of the schools around here that have it, mostly confirmed cases. Not mentioning the fact that she has come in contact with several children whose schools are infected . So we do the right thing by calling what we thought is her doctors surgery, after them umming and arring about it for 3 hours they decide that they do not want to treat or see her and that we have to call her previous GP who is over 5 miles away, despite the fact that they saw her only 2 weeks ago and like i said both her mother and myself are registered there my granddaughter would be too if they hadnt lost the registration forms twice, the last one was put in two weeks ago. I have just been informed whilst writing this that the woman who deals with the registrations has been on holiday so she may been in the process of her being registered there. Its not the staff in the office that is doing the refusal they were happy to book her in, its the doctor who has refused. I am disgusted that this can happen, how can they turn away a very sick baby under these circumstances. Can they do this? help and advice is very welcomed in what I can do about this. Good news is, is that we have just managed to get her to see a doctor elsewhere, which happenes to be a family friend, its a bit of a trek to get her there, but at least she is on her way to seeing some one and to get treated, wether swine flu or no she is very sick and should not be turned away from any medical facility.
  17. Would any one know how or who I can complain to with regards to an out of hours GP that I feel treated me as if I was just after drugs just to get a kick out of them. Let me explain my predicament For the past 4/5 weeks or so I have been suffering with an ongoing viral infection which started in my chest area and was diagnosed with a chest infection, that cleared up but left me very tired, weezy and ended up with a sore throat, blocked sinuses, headaches and sticky eye, not to mention just recently chronic dirroreah. I stayed at home and took the usual lemsip and waited until the symptons subsided which they now have. Not once did I revisit my GP with these reacurring symptoms and when I felt very bad just took a lemsip and took myself to bed. I took nothing more for this not even extra pain relief when I felt really bad. I will say now that I suffer with a disability and have a very low immune system so very often I get whats going around and can spend weeks feeling off colour, but very rarely will I take medication for this and just rest until things go back to normal. This year has been particulary bad for me but I have stayed away from painkillers and relied on 'old wives remidies' which do help. On thursday I woke and felt that my back and chest had been burnt, just like sun burn but there was nothing there, I took some mild anti-inflamortories which did help but later that day I started to suffer with severe pain in my chest back and left arm radiating to my neck and shoulder. I took some paraceptamol for the pain but it didnt help, so after about an hour and in some considerable pain I took temgisic which I had been perscribed for a blocked saliva gland 4 months before and never took as i dont like taking strong pain killers unless I am in dia pain. With in minutes the pain subsided and felt very relieved as I felt that it could have been serious as I suffer with mild angina. (2 episodes in 10 years). thinking not much else about it I took myself off to bed now feeling more comfortable, but still had a slight soreness to my back. The next moring the burning pain woke me up on my back and I felt that this had spread to my chest, upon sitting up I felt a severe pain in my chest back and shoulder, I again took some temgisic and with in minutes the pain went, addmitingly I did feel concerned at what this was but carried on my normal morning routine. with in about half an hour of feeling better the pain hit me again so much so that I collapsed and became very breathless and sweaty. My partner called for an ambulancde as he felt that it may be a heart attack, the paramedic confirmed his concerns and I was immediatley taken to hospital. They ran an ECG which showed some small abnormalities, took some xrays and some blood tests and gave me morphine for the pain plus some blood thining drugs directly into my stomach. I started to feel better within minutes and was then taken to a ward to be evaluated. I was put on oxygen as my oxygen levels were slighty lower than normal and was told to inform them straightaway if my pain became worse. Now this is where my problems start. at about 3pm my pain was getting bad again I called for a nurse and asked for some pain relief, half an hour later still no pain killers. I asked another nurse for some pain relief by this time the pain was getting bad again, she came back with two paraceptamol. because of the serverity of my pain I asked if I could have anything stronger and was told I wasnt written up for any. By this time a doctor came in and told the nurse to give me some morphine for the pain and for me to be booked to have some blood tests to see if I had damaged my heart. My oxygen was put up to also help with the pain. he said this infront of two nursing staff and another doctor. to cut a long story short I was never given any pain relief and by 11pm that night I was in so much pain I asked a nursing staff again for about the third time if I could have some pain relief, she said I had to see a doctor befofre they could give me any. I had already seen the doctor. any way I asked if I could take my own medication she said that I would have to see a doctor for that too.. I asked when this would be and she said it could take up to an hour to two hours. I couldnt wait that long so I had to discharge myself so that I could take my own painkillers. with in 15 minutes the pain started to go. before I went home I found out that from the bloodtest i finally had done and only one instead of the three the doctor had ordered, that my heart had not been damaged. I had a restless night but was almost pain free. the next day I didnt take any pain medication until the afternoon when the pain started to come back. I decided that I would speak to my out of hours surgery the following day about where and what I couls do next to find out the problem and to get some more pain killers. I explain to the locum what had happened, and that I was running out of my painkillers, not believing me that I had been perscribed morphine she called the hospital, she said that the doctor had never perscribed me any painkillers let alone morphine (which I hadnt even asked for)and she was only going to perscribe a mild painkiller that I could buy over the counter as she felt that I didnt need a stronger one as she felt that I was only suffering muscle pain. she didnt even examing me or even listen to my chest. she didnt take my blood pressure or temperature, she made me feel as if I was there just to get a 'fix', not once did she ask about my medical history or how long I had been taking temgisic she just asked what I was perscribed it for. she was very abrupt and rude and did not listen to what I was trying to explain. I would understand her reaction if I had a long history of pain medication but I dont. I very rarely see my GP let alone ask for pain medication.. Im sorry that this is so long and am at a loss what I should do now.. I still dont know what is wrong with me and I am still in pain and now Im angry, scared and upset that no one seems to believe me that I am in so much pain and all I want is for it to stop and to know what has caused this.. what I dont need is to be labled a pill popper as Im certainly not one and dont feel the need to be one either... any suggestions to what I can do about this would help me out so much.. many thanks in advance. by the way I forgot to mention that one of the doctors I saw did say that I may have suffered a mild heart attack if not that then I may have a virus that has affected my heart. I did not make that assumption and never have. I thought that I may have had a clot in my lung as i have had a stroke in the past and this may be related in some way. Tests were meant to have been done which the heart doctor had ordered but they never happened.
  18. was just emailing consumer direct when i get a call from BG they have just offered me 10 pound compensation:eek:.. its better than nowt i suppose...

  20. i got my comp .. only 30 quid but its better than nothing .. just keep complaining and threat to get incontact with the energy ombudsman
  21. sounds about right on the usage of about 95p a day thats roughly how much I use.. did you know suppliers charge a standing charge on top of the electricity/gas you use.. its different for each supplier so could be the extra they are charging. have you asked if they run a scheme for low wagers and people on benefits I know EDF do it and some others you can save up to 15% a year on your bill. Cant you ask for a prepayment meter you dont get charged extra any more for having them and you can keep track on what you are using.. as for the rest Im sorry I cant help you but im sure some one will come along shortly who can help you sort this
