  1. Welcome. Please read the FAQs and around the Forum. These questions have been asked time and time again. The answers are there.
  2. Technically the 40 starts when they have payment, but you could argue that because they wre so dilatory and time wasting that it should start from the date of your reminder. I don't know if it work but might be worth a try.
  3. I would agree with your reading. The charges @ £4 seem remarkably low.
  4. See General Forum - in the stickies 'we would like to buy some lawbooks'
  5. Welcome and well done. Keep us posted.
  6. Natwest Step account gives a debit card.
  7. Yes. I did as BF says. It's good for your morala.
  8. This is unlike Lloyds. Predatory maybe but usually efficient. Send another letter, refering to your first by Special Delivery. Tell them that the clock is ticking from the date of your first letter.
  9. Dear Bookworm, in view of the fact that OFT may look at our charges, would it not be wise to look at our charges and increase them substantially so that we can negotiate down to just above current levels when OFT Finds that charges are excessive?
  10. My CC claim was issued 15/03. Have you pm'd BF or Dave with details for Litigation in Progress?
  11. I cann't completely answer your question but: Your credit card is a seperate agreement. They cann't call that in providing you keep paying Your loan again is a seperate agreement. Check the t&cs carefully. I have just had an offer from Lloyds to settle my claim. In one part of the letter which I can discuss, there was a thinly veiled threat to close my account. Fortunately, with the claim I can afford to pay off the loan which I would not have needed if they hadn't made all these charges. I realise this does not give complete reassurance - consider what you want to do.
  12. I would not classify myself as a computer nerd. We didn't even have a black and white TV till I was 14.
  13. Your story is typical of British banks treatment of their customers. However, having read the FAQs and around the forum you know how to get your money back. Good luck.
  14. Sorry didn't appreciate you had more than one account. Split by accounts.
  15. The limit is £750. Split the claim into two by using different charges - i.e. one claim for exceeding OD. one for returned DDs or on those lines.
