  1. Yes. The letter is a draft. Amend as necessary.
  2. Welcome and well done. You can always take on the credit cards as well.
  3. Welcome. Read the FAQs., particulary regarding Data Protection Act
  4. You got the notes! Brilliant. Do any of the notes show manual intervention in the charges?
  5. I doubt anything will speed up. Keep to your timetable, file a claim - that does bring a response.
  6. The amount of effort that Dave and Bankfodder have put into setting up this site is awesome. The amount of information contained is staggering. It is impossible for every item to be highlighted. Study is, unfortunately, necessary. If you proceed with your claim, you are going to have a grasp of all the facts.
  7. Sorry I missed the 15. They've overcharged you. Get in touch and tell them that the max amount they can charge is £10 under DPA.
  8. They may be trying to avoid giving a full disclosure because it will show that there have been no manual interventions - which has been the piece of wreckage the banks have been hanging onto recently. The choice is yours: take the free statements or insist on full DPA disclosure(which may or may not be useful later). I'm sorry, I cann't give a more definitive answer thatn this. Maybe admin or the other mods?
  9. Welcome. The best thing you can do is to spend time readingm the FAQs and around the forum. There is a lot of information to take in so take your time. It will be time well spent. Having done this, come back if you have questions.
  10. Your bank. This topic has been discussed several times in various fora. If you use the search you should be able to find the posts.
  11. As I said, its a possibility. Be prepared. And yes, they are a vicious lot.
  12. There is a possibility that they may close your account. It's not certain but best be prepared in case.
  13. Unless there is a change in their policy, it's unlikely that they will give you your money back unless you issue a county court claim. Have you opened another back account yet? It would be wise to do so now.
  14. Best leave 14 days. It demonstrates that you have tried to reach a negotiated settlement.

As regards penalty charges - see Halsbury

    OFT

I think that the burden of proof would remain with the banks. A pronouncement by the OFT does not change contract or common law. IMHO.
  17. Yes but the banks don't see it that way.
  18. Yes we are all interested in this. Can you post translated list of costs, charges etc.
