  1. First of all, have you sent off a CCA request to check that the debt is enforceable? I have a halifax debt that is being dealt with by Blair Oliver Scott. Their threats are harmless, they told me that I needed to pay £205 immediately and nothing ever came of it!
  2. Catalogue Debt - if you applied for this online then there are different rules for this compared to an paper agreement that was signed and dated. Do any other caggers know what the rules are? The CCA Request to BCW - if the debt is a telecommunications debt ( like BT, o2 etc) then it would not be covered by a CCA request. You will need to SAR them.
  3. Hi guys, After much posting on this section of the forum and my experiences of payday loan companies my advice to anyone that is thinking of applying for one of these loans, PLEASE DONT For one the interest is astronomical, it's dodgy giving your debit card details to these people as they can charge your card whenever they want, contact is not great with them and it just puts you into debt or more debt depending on your circumstances. Obviously this is just my personal opinion and is not legal or endorsed in any way. Thanks Katpuss
  4. Their website is stil working, I'm on my lunch break so I'll try and call them myself now and see what's going on. I'll send you a private message. Katpuss
  5. Hiya, No news yet, the money still hasn't cleared. I'm just going to check their website to see what's going on. I'll be back in a minute Katpuss
  6. You can record the incident to the police then if it happens again the police will know that this is a reocurring incident. Therefore if you decide to complain about them you have evidence from the police. Also the fact that you are a woman on her own with a young child is something you can "play" on. If he comes back phone the police, them them you are on your own with a child and that a strange man keeps banging on the door!
  7. I'll come round and wait at your house for him!!! I'm a big girl so I'll show him who's boss!!!
  8. If it is not a signed CCA agreement and just terms and conditions then the debt is not enforceable.
  9. I totally agree with the other posters. Do not open the door if he comes back and if he won't leave your property then call the police immediately. The fact that you have a young child makes this even more disgusting!!!! I get so annoyed that companies think they can threaten and scare people!!!!!! Also DO NOT LET HIM IN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. It might be best to CCA next to find out what is going on? This will cost £1 (postal order and NOT cheque). Do not sign the letter either, print your name. I am sure a more experiences cagger will come up with the letter Take care
  10. Personally if I couldn't afford to pay the loan back then I wouldn't take it out in the first place. I wouldn't play around with them as they can get quite nasty depending on what company you use.
  11. They cannot visit you at home and if they do politely tell them if they don't go away then you will call the police to report trespassing. You have not invited them. The majority of the time it is not several different companies it is the: DCA itself, it's in house enforcement team, it's in house "solicitors" etc etc
  12. Why don't you try being a bit kinded hey? This website is here to help and advise people, not to judge and tell them off! Ladytg might have fallen into financial problems which caused her not to be able to pay her debt off. This does happen and unfortunately these types of companies pray on people if they are low on cash! 1st post mmmmm.... joined today...... do you work for the money shop hun?
  13. Sorry, for some reason I thought it was Barclaycard.
  14. Or there's the award for pressing the "on" button on a computer
  15. Moorcroft make me laugh so much :D:D:D:D I've been threatened with court action by them about 5 times every year for the past 4 years and they still haven't quite got round to it! It's just a threat to try and make you pay up or what you can't afford. I wouldn't worry too much, don't speak to them on the phone and keep all letters from them for your records. Have you CCA'ed them yet?
  16. Too right and various other words as well Am CCA'ing them this week
  17. Hi Sunflower, Don't let them get you down as they're not worth it. They are men with small appendages hiding behind their phones!. Please pay your mortgage first as this is top priority and I would certainly SAR Reliable/Ambrose Wilson so that you can see what charges they had loaded on. Have you kept the voicemails on your phone, if not please keep any further as the messags can be used as evidence if you want to take the threatenig behaviour further. If you have enforceable debts that you are struggling to pay may I suggest contacting the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS). I am on a DMP with them, they are a free charity and excellent.
  18. What really annoys me is that if these people were at your door on their own they wouldn't speak to people like this as I don't know what other epople would do but if one of these muppets spoke to me like this my husband would deck them!!!!! If they ever call your mobile phone try and record the call from the phone which most good phones can do now, just an idea if you able to do it. I totally agree with the other caggers, do NOT speak to these cretins on the phone, ask them to put everything in writing and hang up. If they ask you to confirm your identity then just reply with something like " I know who I am thankyou very much, who are you?" Sometimes this can throw them off track!
  19. You say you've got a history with Abbey going back 10 years, can you remember if you have made any payments in the past 6 years? If not the debt may be statue barred.
  20. Jules - I phoned them and explained that I had settled the account and they requested evidence which I duly sent to them. They then contacted the other company on my behalf an the default was removed within a month and Experien sent me a letter to confirm this. Can I add that I am an Experian member (which costs £6.99 per month and is worth every penny) and I can view my credit report at any time.
  21. Always, always pay your priority bills first! I've been done over by Reliable Collections!!!!! I have an account wiht Simply Be and fell behind with payments due to financial difficulties. I called them up and the operator put me through to Reliable Collections who put me on a payment plan for £20 per month. The woman I spoke to said there would be a small arrangement fee. Low and behold I get my next statement through to find that they have added £99.99 to my balance for this "arrangement fee". Check your statements and keep and eye on them. Pay what you can afford and keep up with your mortgage. The worst that Reliable can do is send threatening letters and make threatening phonecalls, no offence but what is that compared to losing your home?
  22. Agreed, the usual ones are late payment charge, default charge, letter charge, interest charge etc etc.
