  1. bump Have I been sent to Coventry?
  2. Afternoon all!! Just a little question..... My LBA is due to go to Abbey on 21st June (assuming they don't contact me in the meantime and make me an offer that will knock my socks off ). Since sending my prelim, I've recieved about £200+ more charges (lucky me). Do I add the new charges to my LBA, or do I save that bit for when I undoubtedly have to file a court claim? Would appreciate any advice!! Thanks, Dizzy
  3. Have now done the same as you - stopped all payments in/out of account. Salary going into new one. Will send letter today along similar lines to yours (hope you don't mind) and this is now getting beyond a joke. Now charges have been slapped on, we're £160 over our o/d :o . I'm not sure they'll be pleased at only getting a token payment though. I can't remember what the minimum payment 'in' is supposed to be a month - I think its £1000. Oh dear...they'll be disappointed then.
  4. Glav, I'm so pleased for you - well done and congratulations!!
  5. Hi Jackster, My original prelim was received by them on the 7th June. Thing is, I messed up and only requested refund of charges (got confused with compounded contractual / contractual interest) and thought I didn't request that until court. Thanks to Glav I sent a new prelim with 24.9% added on, so my request is now about £1500, but haven't heard anything yet . Fingers crossed, they'll do the decent thing and pay up for both of us...soon!! Oh and feel free to hijack when you like - its nice to now how things are going for you!!
  6. I cancelled all my d/d's and s/o's today. Wages are now being paid to parachute account. I was just going to pay a small amount in (to show willing) until my claim is settled. I don't know when my o/d is renewed, so I'll be expecting that letter soon no doubt....
  7. Don't take this as gospel, but I don't think they can do that if your account is in dispute. On the other hand, if they can - I'll be getting letters too... for my £900 o/d. You won't be alone!!
  8. Bank statement recieved today... £210.00 of charges . My better half will have a fit when he comes home tonight.

    MOH v MBNA

Are you charging them contractual interest? It made a huge difference to my claim.
  10. Letter sounds good, Ellie. Will be interested to hear what the response is. I'm anticipating my 'go and get stuffed letter' anyday now...
  11. Did either A&L or MBNA put it in writing that they don't have your details? Or was it over the phone? If you have them in writing, I might consider sending them to each other (ie. MBNA's to A&L and vice versa). If your 40 days are up, enclose a non-compliance letter to each of them. One of them will have to come clean.
  12. It's no surprise really - I think lots of us are on that rate. Stupidly,I thought I was on about 18.9% (ish), until I got my better half to ring them (ours is Abbey / MBNA). Anyway, thanks to advice from glav, I'm now claiming my charges back with 24.9% interest!!

    MOH v MBNA

I wasn't sure either - so I put Abbey Credit Card / MBNA!! That way there's no getting out of it!! Dizzy
  14. Hey ginamaunder, Sorry you've had such bad luck. Why don't you approach CAB again? Lots of people find themselves in this sort of situation - surely if you did have to repay it, they can only make you do it at a sum you can afford, however small. If they can't help you, I'm sure they can point you in the direction of someone who can. Good luck, Dizzy .
  15. What's doing then, glav? Have they paid up yet? :-?
  16. Oh Glav, I just jumped on your thread to apologise for not congratulating you on your success (I was too busy rectifying my own mess, after the advice you gave me ). What on earth are they playing at?
  17. Hi all, Can anyone help me and tell me what this £20 charge on my Argos Card is for? I've had this card for about 5 years now, eventually got the Payment Protection cancelled (which was no mean feat!) and now this has appeared on my statement? I haven't used the card for about 2 years and I've not recieved anything telling me what its supposed to be. If its a 'subscription', should I not have signed something? I've tried searching the forums, but it comes up with nothing. Would appreciate any help!! Thanks, Dizzy
  18. Thanks for that Glav, I'll get it done right now.
  19. Oh pants! I just thought I would be claiming back the interest they were charging me 'as standard' - until last week I thought the APR was about 18.9% - it was only that I got my husband to ring them after reading about the higher interest rate on a couple of other peoples threads, that I found out that's what we were being charged anyway. Should I enclose a letter asking them to disregard the first claim? Or do I just send the second? Won't they think I'm a bit of a divvy?
  20. No I didn't. The way I understood it was that I send the schedule listing just the charges first with my prelim letter -which is what I've done. I'm just waiting for my 'go and get stuffed letter' before I send my LBA (again with the same schedule). I'm just trying to get a little ahead of myself and get the schedule with interest ready in case MBNA aren't very friendly and I end up going to court. I didn't realise how much of a difference it would make to my claim until now. I did add in my prelim that the total I was claiming at that point did not include the interest they were charging me at 24.9% though! I just wanted them to know that I was aware of what they were charging me really. Thanks for you advice and support Glav - I'm constantly trawling through this site, but am beginning to feel like I have brain overload!!
  21. Have now sent off my prelim to MBNA (by registered post of course). Letter was received yesterday by them, am just waiting now to see what they say. If I get to claim interest as well, it will be at 24.9% - which will be nearly an extra £700!
