  1. Thanks for that JonCris - that's going to be the fun bit!
  2. Breckon - I totally agree with you. Husband had company that was accumulating bad debts so we kept remortgaging to keep company afloat, as it was our only source of income, and the bank from our door. Looked at the route of going bankrupt but husband said his pride and reputation was at stake and was determined to repay all his debts, he wouldn't even consider IVA. He has now sold company and repaid debts, but at a tremendous cost to our future - huge, massive interest only mortgage on the house which means we will never own it now - it was going to be our pension because we couldn't even afford to continue with pension payments. Many a time we thought of upping and leaving, but our policy was, that we had borrowed money, even if it was from banks and suppliers, and it had to be repaid. (edit ) poster will be PM'd for an explanaton . Rant and sob story over! Debs
  3. LBA is the second letter! If no luck after 14 days, proceed with court claim. Debs

  5. Have had reply from Andover to my prelim dated 29 Jan (signed for on 5 Feb) saying sorry about complaint etc but unable to trace my account with the details I have provided - what more do they need other than account number and sort code! Question is, if I reply today and send them a copy bank statement as requested , shall I redate and resend my prelim letter and start the 14 days again? Thanks Debs

  7. Welcome to this brilliant site - take your time and read the FAQs first - everything you need to know is in the library and on the template letters. Read all the case histories relating to your particular institution that you are claiming against and then start your own thread in your particular forum so that others in your group can watch your progress and assist if necessary! Good luck Debs:p

  17. Congratulations again to you both - you both deserve to get your additional costs after all you have gone through. I hope you will be very happy in your home (not new but now yours!) and.... if you get the dog, for heavens sake get it insured! Our 18mth Lab has cost £3500 so far in vets fees but the insurance has met most of the cost! Please keep a beady eye on the site cos so many of us will need your advice - who knows, a new career (or book!) may beckon. Debs x
  18. well done both of you! Have been following your thread with great interest as I am just in the process of starting with numerous LLloyd accounts - what a saga you have had but what a success! Debs x
  19. Hello Kryt and welcome to CAG Everybody is very approachable and friendly and have got the T-shirts! Separate all your various cards, loans etc into the various organisations you owe money to or who have charged you fees, and then set up separate threads in each relevant forum - eg for Lloyds go to Lloyds forum and set up your own thread so that people can track your progress and help you. Above all, read the FAQs and success stories so that you will not be phased by the stalling tactics of the various organisations. You will get there in the end but be persistant and above all, read, read and read! Don't be scared to ask for help - good luck!

Time is MONEY! Your money! And we don't advertise for the bank chasers (as bad as ambulance chasers) - if you really are desperate, then look on other sites but as Nattie says, this is a self help site and with knowledge comes power. Good luck
  21. Got all excited when I looked at the buddy list then realised that it must be me listed! Wot - no one else in Surrey!:o
  22. CONGRATULATIONS!!! AND ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST! Have just started out reclaiming but stories like this keep me going! Well done and enjoy the money WHEN its in your account!
  23. Hi Marklamar To start your own thread, just go to the start of the Lloyds Forum and at the top of the page is a button marked "New Thread" - open that and start on your own story! It will help you to get specific advice from others in the Lloyds forum who have already gone through the mill. Good luck (actually all I think you need is patience, persistance and a lot of reading!)
  24. Thanks for that Barty - have been reading your many posts and helpful advice to others - a sound and wise advisor!
  25. Prelim letter now ready to post on Monday. What a fantastic site this is chaps and chapesses - many thanks to all who have made it so informative and friendly. Have spent the last week researching and reading all posts and have found that you have to have tenacity and make sure everything is checked and treble checked! Worked through the statements and saw how much I have made for Lloyds shareholders - crikey, wish I was one! But knowing my luck I will end up being a test case in court - however nothing to lose ...! Will keep you posted of results (if any!) as I know I will need a lot of handholding and reassurance along the way. Incidentally, is it possible to make further claims later for other Lloyds accounts, PPI on loans etc or do you shoot yourself in the foot with starting one action - any advice would be gratefully received! Oh boy, what fun this is going to be - this worm has turned!
