In essence, the legal owner is the person who is the registered owner of a piece of property. The beneficial owner is the 'real' owner who is entitled to the property. Hi Just following on from dx Stepchange are a charity and will not charge you for a Debt Management Plan They are basically funded by the creditors and receive a percentage contribution from them in relation to payments you make towards your Debt Management Plan but the main point is that the amount you pay in will all go towards paying off your debts.   4. Hi Anti Welcome to CAG It's good that you have a recording of the mis-selling. You've lodged a complaint with the service provider and waiting for their response. It is quite early to expect a response. Once they've responded and if your still not happy, ask for a deadlock letter.   6. I didn't know that there was a fee for a counterclaim. If there is a fee – then forget the counterclaim just put in the defence – unless you want to make your own claim against them. I suggest that you at least put in a defence in order to cover yourself because you can't rely on these companies to do what they say they going to do. If you end up getting a default judgement despite their letter then it will take a load of time and trouble trying to undo it.
