  1. This is a great forum. I have a problem you kind people might be able to help with. My boyfriend has just felled some trees on his smallholding. My question is how does he estimate the weight. I understand they are Oak trees and are quite big. I just want to get the best possible price for him and make sure he's not ripped off when he comes to sell them, we have had a few offers from the local firewood boys, but I think they might be worth more as timber. good luck to you all. zoe1979

  3. As your partner does not fall into any of the exemption criteria to enable her not to sign for JSA she is required to attend the JCP office to make a joint claim with you where a Job Seeking Agreement will be drawn up between her and the adviser, she wil be signing to state that she will be actively seeking employment and sone restrictions can be imposed on her behalf the time for restrictions will depend on her previous work history and what type of work she is looking for etc. If she is refusing to attend the JCP office and sign a Job Seeking Agreement she has the right to refuse to sign the agreement and ask for one she can design herself.

  5. This has me confused! So this poor guy who is looking for work has to have his wife sign on as looking for work also (unless she is exempt) before they can have any money. His wife has no intention of looking for a job which is her choice. She refuses to sign on and is sanctioned and eventually the claim is closed. In the meantime the poor guy is still looking for work, yet will receive no financial help to provide for his family. The very least that should happen is that he be paid at the single rate instead of the couple rate by virtue of his efforts to look for work and wanting to comply in every respect with his JS agreement.
