Having got hold of my statements, and sending a Preliminary approach letter to the Bank asking for the return of my £3,200 and the deletion of entries on my credit file, I've now received a letter which states that the complaint will not be dealt with until the test case between the banks and the OFT is resolved, which may take 'many months'.

Interestingly, the letter states the the bank believes the charges are "fair, transparent and lawful."

Currently I'm planning to carry on with sending the LBA and issuing a court claim anyway.

Any other suggestions or ideas at this point are welcomed...

Wow. I was pretty much resigned to the fact I was going to have to wait. The case against staying is pretty compelling though, and very applicable to my own circumstances - £3,000+ is a lot of money to someone who is earning £800 a month.

Thanks for the pointer.
