Hi,

This is my first time I am posting a message and just wanted to say thank you for the useful info on the site.

My initial claim I submitted to NatWest was on the 16 May 2007 was for £797.00. Natwest acknowledged the claim by responding with a standard letter saying they would review my claim.

I waited 2 weeks for a reply before I sent my second letter by which Natwest added additional charges to my account pushing my claim up to £835. Natwest responded to my second letter on 11 June offering a good will gesture of £723.00 which by the time i received the letter I submitted my court claim for a total of £1005.00, this amount included additional interest added to my account as well as my court fee of £80.00.

I wrote to Natwest on the 29 June advising that I would accept there good will gesture but will proceed to claim the full amount of £1005.00

To my delight when I got home yesterday I received a lovely cheque in the post from Natwest for the full amount of £1005.00.

So now I am happy and can pay my bills :-)

Hi Fayj6,

I have jsut today recevied a 'gesture of goodwill' from Natwest for £847 (original claim was £875, with interest and court fee the total is £1141.96). I have also proceeded with court action and they have until this Saturday 7th to file a defence. Can you please provide some tips or a copy of the letter that you sent saying that you accept the goodwill gesture but are still continuing the claim for the full amount - this is what I would like to do.

Natwest have said that they would pay this amount directly into my account! Also they say that if I wanted to discuss this offer then I should contact the number above - YEAH RIGHT! WHAT NUMBER! They have only put a fax number on the letter!!!

Thanks

Ian

Well done, and thanks for posting the news. I'm just starting out, and have found this site very helpful. It is nice to hear that sometimes mega-corp gives way to the individual!
