Hello eveyone!!! :)

My first post!!

Just posted my Subject Access Request last week (30 April 2007) to The Royal Bank Of Scotland. I'm hopeful of a happy outcome as i've paid a lot of charges over the years. I don't think I would have bothered claiming if it wasn't for this site.

Can anyone let me know of the most common pitfalls (if any) in dealing with RBOS? (Closing people's accounts, cancelling overdraughts etc.)

Also, I don't seem to be able to access the speadsheet to calculate my charges and interest! Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks to all. I'll let you all know how Iget on!!!

Hi, pedro.

Take some time to research what you need to do - RBS are really no different to any other bank in the deny/delay/'put off' department.

The following link is a great starting point:

Look for the post "***** New??? Then please read this!! *****" by mrsfoot - it's a great introduction and overview, contains lots of early advice and guidance. (Maybe add this to your 'Favourites' (or 'Bookmarks')???)

This post by StoneLaughter contains links to some crucial threads (topics) on the site:

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/welcome-our-forum/13664-welcome-all-newcomers.html - I found this thread informative, and hugely inspirational.

The site is laid out threads, in topic/subject order. Take your time to 'feel your way around'. The 'index post' by Michael Browne is a life saver:

RBS threads are here: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/royal-bank-scotland/ - know your "enemy" ...

Above all, you are not alone.

And if in doubt ask!
