  1. I received a letter from RBS offering me a settlement which was way below what I'm owed. There is also a vauge threat to close my account if I don't accept their offer or their future charges. Do I just ignore this letter and send in my N1 court form without replying to them? Do I send them a copy of the N1 form ? Thanks to all in advance for any help!!! Hope you all get your money off the *&%£"**'s
  2. I've been offered a settlement of £1600. The true figure is over £3000. To Quote the letter:- "Whilst many of the services are provided without a corresponding charge, we do make charges when customers, by their actions, request an increase to or the creation of an overdraft in excess of their previously agreed limit. By reveiwing such requests we provide an additional service to customers, in many instances allowing items to be paid either by creating or increasing an overdraft. These charges can be avoided entirely by arranging suitable borrowing facilities in advance. " For these reasons, we do not agree with the basis of your complaint. We believe that the charges we levy are for providing services and are not penalties or charges for default." It goes on to say that the payment offer is a gesture of goodwill and would be considered " Full and final settlement". Has anyone had this reply (or one like it) and can anyone give me advice on the best course of action? P.S. I've already filled in my N1 Court form and was 2 days away from sending it!!!
  3. A friend of mine has made two successful claims (one RBS, the other one I forget). He did have trouble with The Yorkshire Bank though. They sent him a cheque for nowhere near the amount he was claiming and saying "Full and final payment" If he would have cashed it I think that would have been the end of his Claim. He sent the cheque back. He showed me the court application papers, but I think they'll settle before that. so watch out for that trick! Thanks again all! Oh, and Ed P, You got A race on your hands:D !!!!!!!
  4. Hang on a minute!!!! I just posted that last post and all the replies showed up!
  5. Hi All!! Sorry for not replying to anyone who posted here, I can see that some people have but for some reason I can't access them!! Maybe I'm not set-up correctly or something. Any advice welcome. (But I probably won't be able to read it!!!!) I might try unregistering from the site and then reregistering. Thanks to anyone who contributed. If I get sorted out I'll let you know. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Hi all!!! Just sent off my Subject Access Request last week (30 April 2007). I wouldn't even have started without this site! Can anybody tell me if there any major pitfall dealing with Royal Bank Of Scotland? (closing accounts etc.) Also, I don't seem to be able to access the spreadsheet to calculate my charges and interest. I'll let you all know how I get on!!
  7. Hello eveyone!!! My first post!! Just posted my Subject Access Request last week (30 April 2007) to The Royal Bank Of Scotland. I'm hopeful of a happy outcome as i've paid a lot of charges over the years. I don't think I would have bothered claiming if it wasn't for this site. Can anyone let me know of the most common pitfalls (if any) in dealing with RBOS? (Closing people's accounts, cancelling overdraughts etc.) Also, I don't seem to be able to access the speadsheet to calculate my charges and interest! Anyone else had this problem? Thanks to all. I'll let you all know how Iget on!!!
