Hi,

I have a question. I am starting my claim against Halifax PLC today. I have all my Statements to hand. I am not clear wether I should deduct £12.00 from each charge figure? I understand that £12.00 is the amount they were legally entitled to charge me.

I don't want to make a mistake at the first fence :)

PS: I really hope to stick it to Halifax because their actions have caused me to go into debt freefall  - If I get my charges back I will also get my life back!

Best regards

Deb

No the law states it is unlawful to charge more than the actual cost for a breach of contract so it is up the Halifax to prove their costs. £12 is an urban myth.

Go for the full amount of each penalty charge. Don't forget that this applies to all penalty charges for Bounced cheques, paid referrals, unpaid DDs etc.

If in doubt...shout !

:p :p If my advice as been of help, please give me a quick click on the scales to your right ;) ;) :)
