Afternoon all.

I'm in the fortunate (if somewhat an*l) position of having all my statements since opening my Abbey current account over 10 years ago.

I've lurked around here for a few weeks now... the final straw that spurred me into action was a combined double whammy £50 charge for going 13p over my limit.

Accordingly Prelim letter sent off today for an £800+ claim.

After years of thinking "i'm-rubbish-with-money-it-must-somehow-be-my-fault-i-probably-deserve-it" this all makes me feel a bit jittery.

Fingers crossed.

it's your money that the banks have unlawfully taken from your account without your permission.they know they're in the wrong and have been acting unlawfully and that they daren't make an appearance in court because they'd lose.go get back what's rightfully yours dave.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi folks, GOGW letter crossed paths with my LBA.

The amount offered in the letter was less than the total refunded to my account, as you'll see below - do they do this just to throw us off track?

Any road the following is what I plan to say... Any comments/observations/corrections?

I am in receipt of your letter dated 24/10/06, outlining that you can not agree to refund all of my charges. However as a gesture of goodwill you will happily refund £245. On checking my account online I discovered that an amount of £275 had been refunded to my account. This appeared as seven miscellaneous fee refunds dated 25/10/06 totalling £195 and three refunds related to specific charges levied in October 2006 totalling £80.

I respectfully decline your offer of settlement and request, once again, that you return to me all charges imposed on this account, totalling £836.87

I will accept the sum refunded only as part settlement and on the clear understanding that I will pursue recovery of the remainder, with a County Court claim if necessary.

My letter before action sent previously indicates that you have until 10/11/06 to respond before Court action commences. You are reminded that there will be no extension to this timescale.

Many Thanks.
