Morning all,

Well they thread title says it all really, my OH asked me to check her BC statement last and I discovered she has optional payment protection. When I asked her about it that was the first she knew she was being charged it (she is a nightmare at times for checking what she is paying out lol). She has had this card for about 10 years and doesn't remember agreeing to this!

 

 

So first off SAR being sorted today

barclays are now in the news saying they will contact all people that paid PPI

 

however, i wouldn't trust them

 

have a read on the FOS website at the PPI PDF's

 

and digest.

 

fill out a complaint form & do a SOC

 

and off you go

 

there are plenty threads here and in the barclaycard forum to follow

 

pull our string if you get stuck

Hi dx, feeling more confident about handling these now, this will be my 8th case I'm starting (with another 9 to start for friends and familys) although my first credit card one BUT I'm sure if I get stuck I will be asking

 

I'm not going to wait on BC contacting us would rather get the ball rolling and be in charge of my own time frame!

Barclays have stated all pre April2011 PPI claims will be paid,any claim made after April2011 will be dealt with on an individual basis based on the validity.

 

In my book mis-sold PPI is mis-sold PPI regardless of the date.

Ok SAR ready to be sent but wanted to check something first.

 

 

As BC only need to send statements for the last 6 years will a transactional history (that will hopefully come with the SAR) show the older PPI/charges applied to the account?

 

 

I realise it's probably an obvious answer but as this is my CC SAR I'm not sure what is included?!?

Yes, the SAR will reveal a transaction history with the ppi charges on the account.
