Hi

A few weeks ago, my wife was in a shop and saw a traffic warden hanging around;the shop owner told her to move her car as the warden's keen. Anyway she went to her car and came back satisfied that there was no ticket, told the shop owner who said that she must have got away with it.

Yesterday, we received a letter asking us to pay £70 for the parking violation, but my wife is adamant that there was NO ticket on the windscreen (even though there is a photo of it).

She admits that if there HAD been a ticket she would have accepted it and paid.

I can only assume that it was a dodgy warden or someone had removed the ticket, but she says that there was no-one around

What can we do?

Cheers

Hi

Thanks for the reply. My wife called the council yesterday and they agreed to accept the lesser sum of £35 but I still think something fishy is going on. My wife is adamant that there was no ticket on the vehicle and the warden was sat on his bike eating a kebab near her vehicle when she eventually drove off. Now if he had seen that there was no longer a ticketm, surely he would have told her that it had been removed by someone? Did he remove it?

I think I will see if there are any CCTV cameras in the area.

Cheers
