    • wont go near it with a barge pole as its ex gov't debt.
    • Thanks, I've had my fill of this lot. What makes me so mad is that I had to take out student loan to get any DHSS help. And then when I tried to help myself and family they presented obstacles. Might be worth passing story to RIP off Britain?
    • there is NO exposure if you simple remove your name address/ref numbers etc from docs, over 10'000 pdf uploads are here. which then harvests IP addresses off of the people that then do so..which is why we do not allow hosting sites. read our rules and upload carefully thats exactly why we say capture as JPG, redact, then convert/merge to one mass PDF. then online sites to achieve that we list do not leave watermarks.  every once in a while we have a user like you that thinks they know better...we've been doing it since 2006 with not one security issue. thank you.
    • was at the time you ticked it  but now they've still not complied . if you read up, here , you'll see thats what everyone does,

    • Hello,

On 15/1/24 booked appointment with Big Motoring World (BMW) to view a mini on 17/1/24 at 8pm at their Enfield dealership.

Car was dirty and test drive was two circuits of roundabout on entry to the showroom.  Was p/x my car and rushed by sales exec and a manager into buying the mini and a 3yr warranty that night, sale all wrapped up by 10pm.  They strongly advised me taking warranty out on car that age (2017) and confirmed it was honoured at over 500 UK registered garages.

The next day, 18/1/24 noticed amber engine warning light on dashboard , immediately phoned BMW aftercare team to ask for it to be investigated asap at nearest garage to me. After 15 mins on hold was told only their 5 service centres across the UK can deal with car issues with earliest date for inspection in March ! Said I’m not happy with that given what sales team advised or driving car. Told an amber warning light only advisory so to drive with caution and call back when light goes red.

I’m not happy to do this, drive the car or with the after care experience (a sign of further stresses to come) so want a refund and to return the car asap.

Please can you advise what I need to do today to get this done.

      Many thanks

    • We have finally managed to obtain the transcript of this case.

The judge's reasoning is very useful and will certainly be helpful in any other cases relating to third-party rights where the customer has contracted with the courier company by using a broker.
This is generally speaking the problem with using PackLink who are domiciled in Spain and very conveniently out of reach of the British justice system.

Frankly I don't think that is any accident.

One of the points that the judge made was that the customers contract with the broker specifically refers to the courier – and it is clear that the courier knows that they are acting for a third party. There is no need to name the third party. They just have to be recognisably part of a class of person – such as a sender or a recipient of the parcel.

Please note that a recent case against UPS failed on exactly the same issue with the judge held that the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 did not apply.

We will be getting that transcript very soon. We will look at it and we will understand how the judge made such catastrophic mistakes. It was a very poor judgement.
We will be recommending that people do include this adverse judgement in their bundle so that when they go to county court the judge will see both sides and see the arguments against this adverse judgement.
Also, we will be to demonstrate to the judge that we are fair-minded and that we don't mind bringing everything to the attention of the judge even if it is against our own interests.
      This is good ethical practice.

It would be very nice if the parcel delivery companies – including EVRi – practised this kind of thing as well.

Hi all,

I'm a newbie here, have been lurking for a few days and think this site is fab!! Was wondering if anyone could help with this:

Received a letter 6th March from Ruthbridge addressed to the Occupier asking to contact the undersigned on a freephone number - was suspicious of this so kept the letter but never called them. Then received a letter on 13th March addressed to myself with a ref no, (after reading some posts it looks like its an internal ref with the initials of the person I would be dealing with!) saying I had been traced at the address and to contact the Recovery Divison immediately.....if I didnt contact within 5 days an agent may call between 7am-9pm! There is no details of any amount or who it could be for or reference apart from theirs! I have not called them after reading about them - NO CHANCE LOL!! The only thing I can think this may be for is an old mobile bill that I did forget about when I moved house, maybe around £150 or so, I dont think its quite statute barred yet, I live in Scotland and I think the last I paid was around end of 2005-2006! My question is do I just wait for them to send a letter with more details as it does seem very vague. Then if they do get in contact, what should letter should i send for a mobile contract? I havent checked my credit score yet, thought everything was ok as I was able to get a mortgage a couple of years ago, and cant think of anything else it could be as everything else is paid off or just about paid!!

Thanks for your help with this!!!:)

LOL!! I doubt very much they've got agents all over the UK or would fork out to send someone to Glasgow! they can try, but they will be getting ignored! I have to say, from reading all the posts about them they sound like eejits!!! I was a bit terrified at first, but now know there's a slim chance they will turn up at my door and if they do I just wont answer, or tell them to get lost!!! They havent even said what they are writing to me for, so hopefully they are just fishing!!

Why bother with a stmp if Ruthbridge have yet to come up with anthing definate. As far as you know this may not have anything to do with you. I have found that ignring Ruthbridge is better than giving them the time of day.

I agree with NailPost. Recently myself and another Cagger were being chased by Ruthbridge, and he responded while I ignored. The response from Ruthbridge was identical in both cases, we got exactly the same threatograms on the same days until they gave up. Which shows how much notice they take of anything you write to them.

Hi all, thanks for all your advice!!

I'm not going to write to them at the moment because I have no idea why they are writing to me!!! They have put no details on their letter apart from their reference number! I have never had a letter before from anyone that doesnt state the amount owed etc...:-|
