Yet Another Parking Fine thread :)

LDK Security issue the car I was driving with a civil parking charge - NOT PARKING WHOLLY WITHIN BAY, I can only assume the driver to my right also got nailed too because s/he was the reason I was crammed in at such an angle. Anywho, in a neat double-whammy, the "attendant" stuck the charge pamphlet to the PASSENGER'S side of the windscreen - it was raining when I got in my car that night, I swept it off, I was only dimly aware I had received any ticket at all, etc

Anyway, my sister is the registered keeper of the car - instead of her and my parents (whom she lives with) acting like I asked and ignoring the letters, they received the Notice to Registered Keeper from Roxburghe Debt Collectors...and promptly filled it in and sent it off with my forwarding address details on. I can understand why they did so, despite being furious that they'd bow to the pressure, but I am not sure what position it leaves me in. Currently the fine stands at a tidy £140, up from the £60 cited on the tiny little sign outside the car park.

To my knowledge, they sent the details request back about a week ago. Five days ago they received a Debt Collection letter, which they forwarded to myself (alongside a vehement letter that I sort it out lest my sister be taken to court :-| I tried explaining...). Said letter now claims that I/we have 7 days to pay before they drag it to their solicitors.

I am expecting to receive between one and four letters from Roxburghe from now - I assume that they are now going to be more dogged in their harassment of me to pay the fine, since I have effectively been 'zero'd in' on. Should I just keep on ignoring, or should I actively appeal?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
