I have a Citroen Relay van purchased from new. It 7 months old but off the road at the dealership, stuck in 1st gear. Dealers are claiming that the gearbox was full of water!! but can offer no explanationas to how this can happen. Warranty will not cover at all and manufacturer will not budge despite numerous phone calls etc.

Can anyone offer any advice on where I go from here, I need to get the van back on the road!

Thanks

Firstly, try writing to Gary Savage MD at Citroen UK, Slough. Unfortunately Citroen try and wriggle out of warranty claims, but a letter to head man may work.

If this doesen't work, then afraid it's Trading standards or Sale of goods act. TS should be able to advise. What dealer sold you the van?

Thanks for the info. Have had an independant inspection carried out by an engineer. Will wait and see what the outcome of that is and then take your advice and write to the MD. Already got some info on Sale of Goods Act, so will draft a letter to them also.
