Hello,

Hoping someone can give me some help. I came home today to a letter from Lowell Financial chasing a debt of £3540.52 on behalf of MBNA. This debt is at least 8 years old (possibly as old as 10 years) and I haven't acknowledged it in at least 6 years.

What course of action should I take. I've read recently that courts have been overturning a procedure called statute barred? Is this correct? Should I ignore the letters?

Help!

Ask for a copy of the signed agreement as you cannot recall anything about this? If they ask you to pay a fee for this srevice firmly say no... Den

I got one out of the blue yesterday too from them. Says I owe £42 for a 3 mobile account that as far as I am concerned has been paid and account closed years ago.

I have emailed them for more info and clearly stated I do not acknowledge this debt.

Will see what they say.

I am so mad about it as am currently dealing with a larger Student loan dect from Thesis. I've hardly any money as it is, 3 kids under 5 and it's a few weeks to Christmas, hard not to let it ruin your mood isn't it?
