unpaid wages pls help

hello,

 

i was made redundant from a company i worked for for 6 weeks as "my face did not fit". i am owed 3 days wages and a weeks notice. they are not paying up as they are in dispute with the agency that got me the job. i have mailed them and said i need payment. they are stalling and this has gone for a month. my contract was between me and my former employer not the agency.

pls help. what can i do and say to make them pay up.

Please phone CAB asap. They have 28 days to pay you the money you are owed. After that you can take them to an Employment Tribunal or take out a small claims case against them.

 

Perhaps a letter stating that will get the desired result.

hi,

i sent an email stating that if monies were not paid by today as thats the payroll day then i would take action. they have not replied or paid me. what shall i do now? How do i go about starting proceedings? thanks

Hi there

 

The company has 28 days from the day you left their employ to pay you any monies due. If 28 days are not up then you must write to them again stating that if the monies are not paid by x date (being 28 days from the date I left your employment) then I will raise a court action for recovery of all monies due, together with 8% judicial interest.

 

You can either take this to an employment tribunal or small claims court. I would prefer to go down the court route because you can add 8% which accrues until the date the case is settled.
