Hello All,

I have been reading the informative forums for a few days now. I was recently made redundant as a self employed sub contractor. I have had to cancel most of my direct debits for credit card payments and 2 unsecured loans. Most of the cards were applied for years ago (8+) The loans are more recent 4 years and 1 year.

I have looked at the letter templates http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general-debt-issues/20758-creditors-dcas-letter-templates.html and will probably be asking various card companies to provide CCA over the course of the next few weeks.

I intend to start with letter 'B' - Ask your creditors to accept pro rata offers of payment on your debts

"Dear Sir/Madam

"Re Account No/Reference No:− 000000000000

Since making that above agreement with you, our circumstances have changed.

We cannot now afford to agreed monthly payments because ..."

I'm worried by stating the bold part above, I will be acknowledging the agreement and this may cause problems when I reach the CCA stage. Should I leave the template alone or amend to..

In reference to the above account number, please be advised in the past month our financial circumstances have changed.

What are your thoughts?

regards

Activist

your call,

a good way forward could be to send a sar and get all documentation and statements for each card, this does cost £10 but then you can see if they have applied any charges etc. and also makes them send you the agreement if it does exists
