hi i am a landlord ,i rent a house to my daughter for over 2 years .my daughter is a single parent . she is now out of a job & is getting benefit from social.she filled in all relavant forms & were duly sent to councils.I am the CARD HOLDER for council tax although i am not staying at this address (MISTAKE ON MY PART)the housing will not pay my daughters rent because i had not filled in 3 questions (NEVER ASKED IN FIRST PLACE)the rent arrears for this flat is now 4 months I cant go on much longer paying this rent .I then get a letter from sherrifs officers for non payment of council tax for my daughters flat .Social has not paid council tax for my daughter. I cant pay council tax and rent for this property i am only a working man any help would be appreciated thanks stephen g

Sorry but I'm not entirely clear on this. Are you the landlord of the property that your daughter is renting? I'm assuming that you are.

 

In the terms of the rental of the property who is responsible for the payment of council tax? Is it you or your daughter? Again I'm assuming it is you, can you confirm this?

What have you failed to fill in? Which form is it?

What does the letter state?

 

Social has not paid council tax for my daughter.

Have they stated a reason for this?

HAVE YOU BEEN TREATED UNFAIRLY BY CREDITORS OR DCA's?

 

BEWARE OF CLAIMS MANAGEMENT COMPANIES OFFERING TO WRITE OFF YOUR DEBTS.
