Charge-free period

New customers who indicate on their application form that they are transferring their main current account to a Halifax moneyback Current Account or Halifax Current Account will not pay any charges (except any charges for special services and cash machine charges) for the first four months after opening a Halifax moneyback Current Account or Halifax Current Account.

Hang on, though, that's interesting.

According to them, paid and failed items fees come under "general charges" , NOT special services. So are they saying that these charges, which are a true pre-estimate of their costs, remember, will be absorbed in the 1st 4 months? That the manual intervention of 2 people to authorise these will not cost as much as it will after the 4 months are up?

That is more than generous, that is unf****believable...
