  1. I have been received loads of emails that say Amazon orders have been canceled, which is funny as i have not ordered anything from Amazon for ages. Thought it was SPAM, but checked online for reports just in case. http://www.hoax-slayer.net/amazon-canceled-order-spam-emails/
  2. Hi all On Black Friday I ordered goods from Amazon using their 'express' delivery service which should've arrived 1st December. Despite paying a premium price for delivery and not receiving a premium service i remained patient until after 9pm on 2nd December when I decided 2 wasted days was enough. I canceled the order and got a full refund. Well earlier this week I ordered goods from another company after receiving my refund, similar price to what I attempted to buy from Amazon but slightly inferior, and was delighted when a delivery man called with a parcel today. It was only when I got the goods inside, all signed for and delivered, I realised it was my canceled order from Amazon. So now I'm left with a dilemma. It was actually intended as a gift and the receiver really wants me to keep the Amazon product whereas my own principles say they should just come and collect their extremely late order. So a few questions... What are the chances of haggling some compensation if I decided to purchase these goods after all? Bearing in mind the initial purchase was Black Friday there was a discount, if I keep the goods, will they be held to that price or would I be expected to pay today's price? If I decide to send the goods back, do they collect or do I have to send it back at my own expense and hardship? (at this moment in time the parcel remains unopened so I've no idea if there's any freepost return slips or whatever).
  3. hi, just joined just after a bit of help, at the beginning of february i replaced my thirsty old vw for something more economical, the insurance was transferred leaving the vw uninsured. under the dvla rules i had to sorn the passat and send back the tax disc for a refund. a few weeks later the car was sold. the v5 was filled out in the new keepers name, and a copy of the buyers insurance certificate, were taken to the post office to re tax the vehicle to allow him to legally drive it home the following sunday. i have since found out that because the post office sent off the green slip (v5c?) instead of the main log book part, my application for a refund has been rejected. if i appeal, any refund due will be dated from the date of successful appeal. so thats 2 months gone already. also I am still on their database as the registered keeper, luckily i have managed to contact the buyer through ebay and have advised him to send off the v5 he found with all the paperwork that came with the car. i have tried to get this sorted with dvla over the phone but have had no success, so I have written and emailed all of the details to the refunds dept and customer services to see where i stand. when i went to the same post office last week to tax my other car, the cashier tried to fill in and take the new keeper part of my log book. is this a new thing? wouldn't you just keep getting new log books?
  4. Dear All I wonder if anyone could give me some information how I could deal with a Claims Underwriter Register entry posted by my insurance company for not informing them of 2 vandalism claims hereby they cancelled my policy and now my insurance has sky rocketed to almost £2000 from £395 I paid in full. What really happened was my car was coined from front to back and I made two claims from my current insurance company .Whilst looking for a renewal I did not click the box that I had claimed as I thought these were not accidents claims and were not effecting my no claims . I want to know if I can take this to court to get my name cleared as I have a Clean record and I did not mean to fraud this company but it was merely an admin error which now has deemed me an insurance fraudster which I am not.
  5. Hello I received a letter yesterday stating that my car insurance has been canceled according to a recorded delivery letter dated 31st August. I have not received or signed for any recorded letter in the last few weeks, and Brentacre have not checked with the Royal Mail that I have received the letter. According to Brentacre, because the letter was not returned to them, I have signed for and received it. The Royal Mail state that any recorded item which ha not been delivered will be returned to the sender after 18 days. A considerably longer period than the 7 days I was apparently given to rectify an issue I was unaware of. Has my insurance company acted too hastily? Ruthlessly even? Do they have any obligation to ensure a recorded letter has been signed for and delivered? The reason for cancellation is due to a direct debit error. I changed bank account and gave them my new direct debit details. They have not actually attempted to charge my new bank account. This is surely an error on their part? In the mean time, they are demanding the missing payment. And are attempting to make me sign up for a new 10 month policy, and pay another substantial deposit. My 'current' 12 month policy is due to end in February. Is there anything I can do now? What choices do I have? Any help will be much appreciated. Regards Ric
