wrong oyster card
rambo replied to newuser2012's topic in Public transport (Trains, tubes and buses)
I don't believe it was a genuine mistake. I live with 2 other people and NEVER pick up someone else's pass/wallet by mistake. -
Fundraiser, 11, kicked of bus over pass row
rambo replied to MrHat's topic in Public transport (Trains, tubes and buses)
Why? He should have his oyster with him if he wants to travel free. London school children get free travel 24/7, all we ask is that they carry thier oyster with them. More to this story................ The sad thing is that his mother is teaching him it's ok NOT to follow the rules.................................. -
Had a girl get on my bus yesterday, she taps in a half rate oyster, walks to the back of the bus and throws it out of the window to a bloke. I wait until we get a couple of stops down the road and calls her to the front. "you know what i'm going to say don't you" "yes, i'm sorry driver, I have no money" Gave her a lecture and told her to get off, I probably sounded rude, but TBH, I don't care.

IMO, TFL will prosecute. And rightly so. -
Stagecoach Busses Open Complaint **RESOLVED**
rambo replied to labrat's topic in Public transport (Trains, tubes and buses)
What this will lead to is bus drivers(myself included) asking ALL buggy users to fold ALL buggys. Buggy users are thier own worst enemy. -
Agree 100%.

There you have it. So a fuss made for no reason, and probably caused the drivers a load of grief. -

I'm a london bus driver so can only comment on TFL routes. There is no such thing as a 'buggy area' on a TFL bus. There is a wheelchair area that we, as drivers allow buggy users to use if it is not needed by a wheelchair user. As a driver, I am within my rights to ask any bugger user to fold thier pushchair. The problem is that women(mainly) with buggys seem to think that the wheelchair area is a 'buggy area'. Buggys have become huge over the years and have also got alot wider, also, women pile loads of bags on to the buggys making them even bigger. TFL rules are that if a buggy user is already on the bus and a wheelchair wants to board, I can ask the buggy user to fold thier buggy, but, if the buggy user refuses to fold thier buggy, I cannot make them. In that situation, I am required to call my radio room and inform them what has happened. However, in the real world, I tell the buggy user they MUST fold thier buggy. I get loads of women say 'but it does'nt fold', and I say, 'you mean you don't want to fold it'. Some buggy users choose to get off rather than fold the buggy, and I always offer them a transfer ticket. TBH, if I was a buggy user and was useing the bus regular, I would buy a small, narrow, easily foldable buggy, but, as has become the norm now, people don't give 2 sh*ts about anyone. Ive had loads of buggy users tell me they are not going to fold thier buggy in order for a wheelchair user to get on, and I totally embarass the buggy user into folding thier buggy. My message to the OP?, tell your friends to get a smaller, easily foldable buggy, after all, the buggy can be folded, the wheelchair user can't start walking again, can they! -
HELP! Suspected fraud - invalid ticket!
rambo replied to LA12's topic in Public transport (Trains, tubes and buses)
Conviction for fraud. -
Right decision maria. And if you go back there again, i'm sure you will get a big discount.
-
TBH, I would accept the owners apoligy, there are plenty of dodgy garages out there that would not care and get away with it. The owner has been 100 % fair, and tried to do the right thing. He made a mistake and has addmitted it.

Tesco Employee confidentiality??
rambo replied to lauriedotjo's topic in Employment and minimum wage problems
I don't wish to be rude, but, I would imagine that every employee who gets the discount card is told it can only be used by them? As for the other staff knowing about what happenend, one thing ive found out over the years is that there are no secrets in the workplace. -
Being prosecuted by TfL

My solicitor has said it's OK to see the company doctor, I have nothing to hide. Going to speak to my solicitor before I go to company doctor to ask about access to the report.
-
I'm off to see my company doctor due to an on going problem with an injury I believe was caused at work. Can I, by law view/get a copy of the report the company doctor does on me? Call me paranoid, but I believe the company doctor will be on the companie's side and would like to see whatever he/she writes about me.

Do yourself a favour, do not put anything about this on facebook, a very very slippery slope. I'm not on facebook so don't know if you can remove stuff you have already put up, if you can, do it.

This is why shops should not allow an employee to take over from another employee on the same till without the 1st person cashing up 1st. It's just money saving for the company.
