I had bailiffs after me for council tax, I paid it in full but did not tell the bailiffs, I liked the idea of the bailiffs wasting thier time chasing me, it took the council 4 months to tell the bailiffs

Go to the northampton county court website and download statutory declaration forms, print them off and fill them in. Take them to local county court and get them stamped, fax them to northampton county court and it will stop bailiff action. Be quick though, bailiff will try and lift car. Phone bailiff when you have faxed form through, they should stop action.

Also, and this is going to sound racist, the foriegn customers are usaully the worst.

I used to run a repair garage with my dad, mostly land rovers and classic cars, some customers want a complete rebuild for nothing. My advice is to always ask the garage worst case senario, that way you won't be shocked at the final bill. Sometimes removing a simple nut/bolt can take ages and end up costing more, but a good garage should point out this can happen and make you aware of it.

Bailiff said he was from northampton county court, absolute lie!. He also said once he touched the car it was the courts property, is that true?. Can he snatch the keys like that?. I have searched everywhere and cannot find anything that says he can snatch keys, anyone know any different.

I had a reply from the BBC, load of waffle.

Hi guys. I work as a controller for a taxi company. I work 2X12 hrs night shifts per week. Am I entilted to holiday pay?. Am I entilted to breaks?. I get paid by cheque and am self employed. I have signed NO contract. I know it's a grey area when self employed working for one company only.

[EDIT] The bailiff putting his foot in the door was a natuarul reaction, he forgot the camera was there!. Bet he does it all the time.

Made my complaint to BBC, very easy to do, I suggest everyone does it.

Many years ago I had a bailiff turn up at my house about an unpaid PCN which I was fighting against with Hackney council, I must admit he was very polite, but, when I would not let him in he called the police and told them I was using threating behaviour!. My advice to anybody that has dealings with bailiffs is to download copies of the relevant legislation and keep them handy in case the bailiff calls the police. The police are often baffled by the bailiffs and don't know the law. I think what [EDIT] the bailiff did by putting his foot in the door straight away and saying "we have crossed the threshold" is an absolute disgrace!. One day someone is going to kill a bailiff. God forbid.

What amazed me was to amount of police that turned up to the flat!, talk about waste police time. As for the foot in the door, from directgov website; "They can't force thier way in on thier first visit, but they can enter through an open window, or an unlocked door. Forced entry includes pushing past you once you have opened the door to them or leaving thier foot in the door to prevent you closing it. SUCH ACTION WOULD MAKE THE WHOLE PROCESS ILLEGAL. "Bailiffs recovering unpaid magistrates courts fines, however, do have the power to force entry". So the question is; can bailiffs stick thier foot in the door?, I would say NO.

The problem with allowing bailiffs into your home to do a levy is that it then allows them to break into your home at a later date. NEVER EVER LET THEM IN! I have had terrible problems with bailiffs in the past regarding illegal parking tickets, bailiffs will lie and cheat to get money out of you. I understand the need for bailiffs, if they act within the law.
