  1. With regards to the 10 year guarantee you mentioned, is he registered with Fensa? I'm sure that installers have to be registered for the guarantee to be effective.
  2. Even electric toothbrushes come with the two pinplug on, just buy the adapter for less than £1. I thought it was common knowledge.
  3. I had the same situation once coming out of Morrisons, the only one with a trolley. The guard asked if I had any razor blades or cds. When I answered no, he looked at how much I had in the trolley and I said that if he thought I was going to empty it while he checked it, then he could think again and what about the people that came through at the same time as me? He then said that I could go and I thanked him, quite sarcastically.
  4. Hi I was wondering the same thing but googled and found this Your new Halifax Current Account scroll down to just over halfway and there is this "When are fees taken from my account? Can I change this date?" We take the daily overdraft fees from your bank account on the last day of the following month. You'll know the amount we’ll take because we’ll send you a statement at least 14 days before. We'll also send you a statement the month after you use an overdraft, regardless of how often you normally receive statements. These dates are the same for all customers and can't be changed. Hope this helps. Kaz
  5. I use their shop in Manchester and have never had any problems.
  6. Hi We've been with Virgin for almost 10 years for the tv and about 7 years for internet and never had any problems with them regarding service or billing. Karen
  7. Locutus All of your suggestions have been carried out an long time ago but it seems like T-mobile ignore your requests and because I have my mobile phone with them, he seemed to think it was ok to ring me and tell me that I had become a valued customer and was eligible for special offers! I'm quite upset as even though I'd become valued, he's never rang me back! I had to report one company to TPS a week or two ago. Pure Insurance kept ringing our home number asking for someone that had never lived there, even though we kept stating this and asking for our number to be removed from their database. They soon removed it when I reported them and emailed their customer services advising them that they had been reported! Kaz
  8. Hi Just had a call on my mobile from 0845 4122750 which is apparently T-Mobile sales. Told them I couldn't talk now but he said that my customer value has just gone up as I pay my bills on time and could he ring me back tonight with some offers? He can if he wants but if I answer it, that's a different matter! Googled the number and it seems that it is the sales team responsible for flogging broadband? Why don't sales teams realise that if I wanted to deal with a smarmy salesman, I'd ring them! Might have a bet with myself as to how many times they will ring before they realised I'm not going to answer them. Kaz
  9. I used to work for them, years ago thank god and agree with the level of training they give. Nothing was mentioned about DSR's or SOGA, it was more about how to word replys to customers' letters. I still cringe when I see their ads in the papers for any of the catalogues that they run. Kaz
  10. Could try Knott's garage in Haughton Green, Denton. I live nearby and a lot of people in the area use them. If you search for them on Yell, their number and address comes up.
  11. Don't forget about the middle lane drivers who are on the phone at the same time! Seen that so many times driving down the M1. Followed a bloke once driving down the M1 past Northampton and then onto the M25 where I lost sight of him, all the time on the phone! Kaz
  12. I voted No! On the map for the transport improvements, the area I live in wasn't even shown, maybe that was because there were no transport inprovements proposed for my area! So why vote for improvements when I wouldn't have any!
  13. Hi Sharon The day you started to bleed with the miscarriage is usually taken as the first day of your new cycle, but bear in mind, that for the next few periods after that can take a while to settle back down to your normal cycle, so even though your next period may seem as being late, it could just be your hormones taking a while to settle back down. try search for the fertility friends website, where there are loads of people that you can 'speak' to online. take care Karen
  14. Would it matter if it stayed as Mr instead of Miss - after all your passport doesn't have your marital status on it? That way you wouldn't have to pay the charge? Is the carrier Airtours themselves? If not, you could ring the actual holiday company it is booked with and ask if it matters.
  15. Why would it take Microsoft 2 months to repair? I had to contact them about 2-3 years ago about my crystal Xbox when the lazer unit had a fault - rang them on the Friday, they sent out the packaging material to me by the Monday, the courier collected it from me on the Tuesday morning. Got an email from them on the Wednesday to say the fault had been rectified and the Xbox was on it's way back to me. I collected it from the courier depot on the Friday, so I was only without for 4 days, back on the fifth. They sent me my original console back as it is a crystal edition and they had stopped making them so didn't have one to replace it with. I found Microsoft to be very efficient and quick to respond. I got my console from Argos but couldn't be bothered with dealing them, went straight to Microsoft. Kaz
  16. Hi I can't advise you about the letter but would like to say that to find out the correct postcode for his address, go onto the royal mail's website and there is a postcode finder that will give you the correct code for his address. Good luck Kaz
  17. Hi All Just wanted to let everyone know that Jet2.com paid the refund for the seat selection charge of £18 back into my account on the 30th November. They took their time, letter dated 20th saying they would refund and refunded 10 days later. Of course, when I paid the charge originally, they took it straightaway! But at least I got it back. Karen
  18. Hi All Just received a letter from Jet2.com this morning saying that they will be refunding me the £18 I paid to prebook our seats! "We are very sorry to learn that whilst checking in for your flijts at both Manchester and Murcia Airports, your seats were not allocated as you had requested. This was due to the particular aircrafts you flew on having slightly different seating configurations and we suspect the incorrect seating plans were used. We apologise for any inconvenience or discomfort this caused and please be assured that this is being followed up with our appointed Ground Handling Company at both Airports. Under the circumstances, we are of course happy to refund the payment made for the affected seat bookings of £18. A request has been sent through to our Accounts Department to process this refund to the payment card used to make your seat selection." So thank you to the people who agreed that this was an unfair practice, and also thanks to whoever disgreed and thought it was fair because you gave me the push to write and query it with Jet2.com I have to say that I would fly with Jet2.com again as we had no other issues with them, in fact, we left 30mins early coming home so got into Manchester at 9pm instead of 9.30pm, but wouldn't bother prebooking seats again. Thanks Karen
  19. Hi Nailpost Thanks for your support. Wouldn't be surprised if NFMac is along soon, disagreeing with you.
  20. Dear NFMac So if you bought an item from a shop that consisted of several parts and then when the item was supplied, some parts were missing, if the shop had written in their terms that they had the right to withhold some of the parts you had paid for without giving you a reason, that's ok? You don't know why we wanted to choose our seats and I am not prepared to discuss this any further with you. I find your attitude rather rude and as a result, I will not enter into any further discussions with you. Most of the other comments you have posted in reply to other posters' queries, have been quite rude and patronising and seem to be attempting to draw them into an argument and I will not be party to this type of discussion. P.S. Your attitude has made me decide to query it with Jet2.com - Thanks!
  21. Hi Nailpost No, didn't chose the extra legroom seats but when you've booked seats, you can go back on and chose whereabouts on the plane you want to sit. I didn't want us to arrive at the check-in desks to be told that they didn't have three seats together so booked them on-line instead. We did sit together but not in the seats we chose so what was the point of booking them in the first place? Been on the Office of Fair Trading website and found the regulations about unfair terms so will put them in my letter and send it registered delivery to them. Thanks for replying. Karen
  22. Hi Does anyone else think this is unfair? Me, my friend and her son flew with Jet2.com on Sunday 28 October 2007 to Murcia Airport and came back on Thursday 1 November 2007. A few days before we went, as their planes are only small, we decided to take advantage of the seat selection charge of £3 each = £18 in total. Got to Manchester airport to check in and were told by the desk assistant that the seats we'd prepaid and booked were not available, and were given different seats. This happened again on the way home from Murcia and the desk assistant suggested that we write to Jet2.com and query why they offer you the chance to preselect your seats but then you don't get them. In their terms they state this:- 3.6.1 We will endeavour to honour advance seating requests made on our on-line facility, but we cannot guarantee any particular seat and we reserve the right to assign or reassign seats at any time, even after boarding of the aircraft. This may be necessary for operational, safety or security reasons. Seat selection charges are strictly non-refundable. Should you change the date of your flight booking these seat selection charges are non-transferable. The flights were fine, but surely if you have paid extra for a service, and don't get it, an automatic refund should happen. There were 156 seats on each plane and if even half of those seats had been prebooked and then not allocated correctly, they have made £234 for nothing! I am going to write to them and request a refund of the charges but would it help if I quoted the Sale and Supply of Goods and Services Act? I was thinking of asking for the operational, safety or security reasons as to why the original seats booked were not available, as quoted in their terms. Thanks Karen
  23. not this again! had it sent round work in paperform and then on email. How many years has this been going round?
