  1. http://http://www.tenancyagreement.com/info/Section_8_Notices.asp Thats a section 8. Have a read then you no what to expect.
  2. Section 8 must be given to you then you have 14 days to leave voluntarily. if you choose not to go after the 14 days then the LL must take it to court at which point the court will tell you when you must vacate the property. Normally takes about 2 months to go through court but can sometimes be quicker depending on how busy the courts are.
  3. They need either a section 21 or a section 8 of the housing act 1988. They can not just throw you out. If they do try anything then call the police as they will be the ones breaking the law.
  4. So they want to cut down the help people get to pay something that they cant afford in the first place then send bailiffs out to charge them even more that they cant afford. They already do this and it dont work so what do they think is going to happen if they make more cuts to the help people need. So send them to prison which in turn will create more people that are going to struggle to get work because of a criminal record and also overfill the prisons that are already full which will cost more money that they will no doubt find by putting council tax up. All i can say is GOD HELP US ALL,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  5. I dont't think it was withheld as such. When i went to pre pay meters i asked if i could go back to quarterly meters once the debt was paid of, they said yes, then i asked if there was credit checks to go through and they said yes. I thought it was common knowledge that when getting credit or having electric/gas meters put in you always go through a credit check.
  6. If your insurance company had the V5 from you then its falls on them to notify dvla that the car was written of. I would get in touch with Admiral Insurance and find out what they did regarding the V5 as to me i would say this falls on them to sort out for you.
  7. Yes you can change tariff. There about 4 different ones for pre pay customers. To change back to credit meters means you need to go through the normal credit check that all utility companys do. They say you can change back which you can but only if you pass the credit check. I cant see how they could complain to the energy ombudsman because they did not pass a credit check..
  8. I think its safe to say his screen was already iced up and he's not said anything about using the washers so chose to drive like this. No arguement, no reason or case to appeal.
  9. I was going to sign on just for my stamp last year but was told i had to jump through all the same hoops as everyone else otherwise my claim would stop.
  10. I'm asuming its a very old boiler as well then. I have a back boiler which is out of the arc and if i left the heating on as long as you do it would use £15 in the first day. Check what tariff your on with BG as you may find there are lower priced ones that you can change to.
  11. It all depends on who they are and what the debt is that there collecting for. Bit more info would help.
  12. How long are you having the heating on each time for it to use that amount so quick?
  13. They will come out and check the meter but if there is no fault found then you will get charged £70 for the call out..
  14. Send of for it. thats the only way you will get to the bottom of where there fees come into it and then you can reduce it down to what they should have charged.
  15. A friend of mine has a couple of things on his record a lot worse than yours and he's a teacher, now head of his department. So i wouldnt worry to much.
  16. If your going to be paying £350 a month then there is no reason for the council to do anything other than accept it. Did you send of for the breakdown of there fees? You mite find you get a phone call from them if they charged you 5 first visit fees for just one visit. They have a habbit of getting admin errors on there system when they get questioned about there fees..
  17. Wouldnt worry about it if thats what it will come up as. Its a minor even if you did tell anyone about it.
  18. After there second visit so that they can charge you a second visit fee they tend to give up if theres no chance to take a car or get in to the house. You mite get one more visit if there passing but normally it will go quiet other than a letter, then it should go back to the council. I'm in the middle of all this with the same bailiffs but due to a few mistakes they made with me i'm in the middle of the complaints procedure with the council to show them just how bad there agents are.
  19. What is the coviction down as. The wording of a conviction has a lot to do with what happens. Bit like Fraud - bad but not to bad, Conspiracy to defraud - by by any chance of working for the next 10 to 15 years.. Just an example of what i mean by the wording and how it changes things.
  20. If you keep paying the bailiff then it will never go back to the council as there is no reason for them to pass it back. Plus, if you make an arrangement to pay the bailiffs then default on a payment by even a day it gives them a reason to visit you and try to charge you even more money. Also if you pay the council direct then you can pay as little as £20 a month if you want and they can do nothing about it as you are willing to pay at what you can afford. Bailiff will not settle for a small amount, they want it as quick as possible plus what ever fees they can get away with charging.
  21. But then it makes the landlord liable for it and that wont do the OP any good as it may get rid of one problem but start a new one with the LL. Maybe speaking to the LL first about the above would be an idea rather than just throwing mud and hoping it will stick.
  22. This would only apply if the LL stipulates it in the tenancy which would say something along the lines of -- The rent is to include council tax for the property, all other utility bills are the responsibility of the tennant.
  23. If you can all get freeview then why not just tell the HO that non of you want it as your current system is ok. Just been reading up on IRS systems and unless anybody in the block wants sky then its realy not worth it. also most companys that fit the systems do it on a yearly contract for HO so the cost is spread over the year through a bump in rent or service charge but would only be up to £1 a week.
  24. Shame. Now he no's how the people he and his co-workers chase for money feel....
