  1. Hi Sez2013 Just wondered how you are getting on with your claim? I am also currently having a dispute with Seat & Seat Finance over the car I have had for 4 months needing a new ECU at a cost of over £1100. Thanks Jennie
  2. Good luck for tomorrow, hopefully all will be ok but if you do have any problems have a rant on the Ford facebook page and someone should respond to you pretty quickly and help you get it sorted. Its amazing how helpful companies can be when complaints are out there for all to see! Jennie
  3. Hi Guys Thanks for the replies. I have now given up ringing Seat Finance as the call centre staff don't have a clue what I am on about! I've now put everything in writing tell them they have 7 days to arrange repairs or I will cancel the agreement. Hopefully someone who knows what they are doing will read it but I'm not holding out much hope! Jennie
  4. Hi All Just a quick update. It has today been confirmed that the ECU needs replacing and all of a sudden Seat Finance have become very unhelpful! They are now telling me that as I didn't take out the extended warranty it is up to me to pay for the repairs! I have quoted them the Supply of Goods (Implied Terms) Act 1973 but they are clueless to be honest and don't know what I am talking about. I can't afford to keep ringing them as it takes on average 30 minutes (on a premium rate number) to get through to speak to someone and it has cost me over £40.00 already! I'm going to contact CAB again tomorrow but just wondered if anyone had any advice in the meantime? I'm still without a car (over a week now) and can't see it changing any time soon Thanks Jennie
  5. Don't change your breakdown cover to Green Flag either, they are just as bad! Called them out today and they refused to recover my car because the arrogant **** from the control room said that my car was in an unroadworthy condition when I took out the policy. The coolant sensor needed replacing as when the outside temp dropped below 3 degrees it thought that coolant was low! No leak or anything, purely just the sensor (confirmed by VW mechanic with 15 years experience!). This was in no way related to the issue I had called them out for which was an ECU problem causing the car to go into limp mode and not rev above 1200rpm. The **** from the control room said that the coolant sensor was related to the ECU problem, when I asked him if he was a mechanic he said that he had mechanical knowledge so I asked him why the coolant warning came on only at low temperatures and his response was "I am not going to diagnose your car over the phone madam". Told him to forget it and cancelled my policy there and then. Driver of Green Flag van who had already loaded my car on to the trailer said that they were a bunch of ***** who did this all the time. When I spoke to complaints the lady said she couldn't understand why the guy from the control room was like that and that my car should have been recovered! Sorry for the rant, just don't want you to jump out of the frying pan into the fire! Jennie
  6. Hi All I bought a car on hire purchase 4 months ago from a Seat dealer, last weekend the car broke (basically!). The guys from an independent garage ran it through their diagnostics system and it came back with a fault, solution 'replace ECU'. Cost of part from Seat was over £1200! Nowhere has the part though because it is on back order and no one knows when it will be coming in. I contacted CAB who were fantastic and advised me that Seat Finance should pay for the repairs. I contacted Seat Finance and they wanted me to take the car back to where I bought it from so they could diagnose the fault (using exactly the same software as the independent!). When I had the car recovered to the place where I bought it the guy I dealt with was a complete ****. He said that it couldn't be the ECU as ECU's don't break! I can feel a fight coming on about this issue so just wanted to check what my rights are to cancel a HP agreement due to faulty goods? If anyone has any advice I would be extremely grateful. CAB aren't open now until Monday and can't seem to find an answer to my question on Google. Thanks Jennie
  7. Hi Poppy, I had an accident in May in similar circumstances to yours. I was just wondering if you had your claim resolved and how you got on?
  8. Hi, having big problem with RBS! Got an account with RBS and cancelled all direct debits at the beginning of the year as there was no money going into the account. When I stopped using the account it was £2 in credit. Now I am getting letters saying that my account is £450 overdrawn and they are going to send baliffs round unless I pay it. I have rang RBS today and they have confirmed that all the direct debits were cancelled but that 2 companies still tried to take the money, because of this they have charged me the usual ridiculous amounts! Are they allowed to do this?
  9. Just filled in my claim form for court and reading up on what happens and found something that says if you frequently go into unauthorised overdraft by large amounts, the court may think you unreasonable, and if you lose you might have to pay the bank’s court costs. I'm really panicking now because my account often goes overdrawn but its because of the bank charges! can anybody reassure me that I'm doing the right thing??!!
