  1. So should I subject access request the Lloyds branch that is/was holding the ring? Thanks
  2. I think I am just going to take mum to the bank and try our luck... thanks
  3. Thanks Hon... I shall follow your advice We appear to have three different DCAs chasing Lloyds TSB accounts. One is being settled via Wescot, one is in dispute due to no CCA... and one we have absolutely no idea about! Mum is convinced that she only ever had a loan and a cc - what letter should I send to the other one? Help! Thanks
  4. According to my Mum, it was left there as security... that is how she remembers it, and that is what I recall being told at the time...
  5. ROTFLMFAO!!! I just sprayed the screen - sorry everyone who got a shower!
  6. No, no receipt for the ring... if there is one it was lost long ago in the sands of time - my dad was alive when this was done and he passed fifteen years ago...
  7. Love to see what that company uniform looked like!
  8. Years ago, when my mum took out a loan with Royds... they took her engagement ring as security and put it in the branch safe. Years have passed and they still have it. One debt to them is being paid via Wescot, the other is yet to be CCA-ed... If we ask for the ring back, are we asking for trouble? Should we just leave it there? Any help appreciated... Thanks
  9. Thanks... My scanner and laptop have tried mediation but it didn't work, they are currently going through a trial separation, so I will scan the form in at work tomorrow... We got a card from NCO today saying: "I confirm that I will be contacting you on TUESDAY between 8am - 8pm. If inconvenient please telephone..." As we have moved, our mail is being redirected, so I have no idea which Tuesday... could prove interesting if they do a) try and call - the number is disconnected, or b) turn up - the address they have is being demolished - they can always chat to the JCB they'll find there - it'll be as scared and responsive as we are!!! Bump Bump Can someone please tell me if I am right in thinking that I don't need to fill this form in (not that I think we can because the card was given when Woolwich changed to Barclays), I just need to ask them to prove that we requested the PPI?!? Barclaycard have now sent a letter saying "if you do not complete this form then we will mark your complaint as closed..." Can anyone shed some light on my next move? Please?
  10. Sharkleycard have asked us to fill in the form to "investigate" the PPI... Do I need to tell NCO that I am going to report them to OFT, is there anyone else I need to report them to, and should I tell Sharkleycard to stick their form where the sun doesn't shine? Help please...
  11. Cheers for the heads up! Right, I shall spend this evening contacting the OFT... anyone else I should point them out to? Do I have to write to No Clue Obviously and inform them that the account is in serious dispute etc... Also, got a form back from Sharkleys re the PPI - anyone else ever had one of these to fill in - they want to know everything except our blood groups! Bump
  12. Don't laugh, but they wrote again yesterday to say they are accepting the offer and when to start paying! *insert deity of choice* save me from these idiots! Robbers Way are going to kneecap me if I don't pay them everything I owe within ten days... off to hide under a table! I guess I need to Consumer Direct them as well... do I need to send Robbers a letter... telling them to foxtrot oscar?!? Bump Please can someone confirm if I need to tell Robinson Way to foxtrot oscar or just ignore them?!? Thanks
  13. Well, Barclayshark have moved it on to someone else again (possibly another desk along the corridoor or one of their "legal department" but I don't have the letter to hand)... and it is the usual bovine excrement "You haven't responded to XXX's letters... we will come round and kneecap you or drag you to court... yadda yadda yadda" Shall I ignore or send copies of the other letters to this bunch of halfwitts (despite conclusive proof that the threat monkeys cannot read anything unless it has £ and lots of 0's at the end)???
  14. Got two more missives from Wescot - first was full of payment slips, and the second contained a form to set up a standing order
  15. Hi Citizen B... thanks for the response. I'd rather not send them anything... is there any way that I can get away with not sending them any sort of I&E (and could I possibly use the word "any" any more times in this post?!?) MNK x
  16. If you have a BT line (I don't know if other networks offer this) you can get their "choose to refuse" service which blocks the calls. It costs a little, but I have found that it is more than worth it for the silence! Good luck
  17. They may well turn up at your house, but they have no rights and you can, politely or otherwise, tell them to "foxtrot oscar". I have a debt that has been through the hands of so many DCAs that I have lost count - I keep telling them that it is in dispute with the original one and they seem to disappear back into the woodwork until it gets passed on to another bunch of hapless halfwits. Please don't worry yourself.
  18. Have you got a copy of the letter? I would send it to the debt collection company... Other people who are far more knowledgeable on debt matters will be along to help you... but I certainly wouldn't pay them a penny.
  19. Numerous - but AIC and Apex were the most *coughcough* persistent
