  1. He has gone, is lunch time over .... double maths about to start (definately not English)
  2. Clamper .. are you lonely ? I can not think of any other reason why you would just come here to post a very unconstructive message blatantly trying to engage people in an argument. Are you deprived of attention ? Or are you walting as a villan practising for panto?
  3. I LOVE IT, had to record it last night so can not wait to get home and watch it today, minor celebs stripped of their dignity, what's not to like ?
  4. HF I think we are missing the real important information here.................how is the plans for the house, are you going cottage or town house ? have you got your design board done, swatches etc, only 6 weeks till Christmas you know !
  5. You need to contact CCCS straight away to warn them, it might be possible that you can delay the start of your payment plan to next month. As previously advised you need to look at the contract or terms on the staff catalogue it might be that they take the money because they can not because they are entitled to. Is it possible to speak confidentially to a line manager who can intervene with HR for you and put some weight behind the matter ? Good luck, hope it works out for you the first few months are very hard but it will settle down and get better.
  6. We defend democracy and freedom of speach which means that the BNP are entitled to be heard and if people do not like what they have to say then they should vote accordingly . I would have liked to see some strong characters against him to really push him. There are people who do not fully appreciate what these people are about and I hope that this will expose the BNP for what they are.
  7. My sympathy Mine got into remote conrol cars the bloke next door started it. They turned the back yard into a mini silverstone and ran round like 3 year olds whooping with glee. I think it got out of hand when they purchased a remote control helicopter to airlift any injured drivers to hospital!!!!!!!!!
  8. They seriously seem to be missing the point here ,they barred you from a facility due to your gender and then proceeded to humiliate you. I should not imagine that this would sound very good when presented in court. They are getting ahead of them selves regarding the outcome of a court case this is not a matter of unable to pay but that you are not willing to pay for this membership because they are not providing you the service you understood you would get. I really think you need to involve the council and stress that you were discriminated against and treated with disrespect and that the council by doing nothing are condoning their attitude. Do they have a leaflet or website which shows the class you wanted to attend and does not state that it was female only ? if so surley this shows that you signed up for this and it was falsely advertised there fore this is the defence against continuing your membership. Sorry I can not remember back have you been to the citizens advice for help. rooting for you !
  9. Have you raised a formal complaint ? that would be my next move you can do this on the net via their web site, they tend to respond quickly and you will get a reference number. Sorry not very useful but avoids more being passed around customers services on the phone.
  10. I try not to look out of the window in the morning as it gives me nothing to do in the afternoon..... although the new spinney chair has livened things up. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. The nice man from FOS that called me today to tell me that my complaint against Barclay Card was upheld and a letter of appology plus compensation on the way..... oh happy days ....... do not usually complain ..but now I have a taste for it !!!!!
  12. Love them to bits and the 1g of fat helps me convince myself that they are almost a diet food, does the orangy bit coun't towards my 5 a day if I eat enough of them ?
  13. A local B&Q has only self service tills available at certain times, at 0700hrs one morning I tried to buy a bean bag the stupid plate you put your goods on after scanning couldn't tell I had anything as it didn't weigh enough after sitting on the stupid thing it had a hissy fit, when an old gent arrived with several 15ft planks of wood we had so much fun trying to get this through the self service, ahh it took me back to my young days and initiative tests on promotion courses! Well done, these tills are good as an option for those who wish to use them but not ideal for every situation.
  14. I think anyone can apply, you might have to have a debt over a certain ammount which you have. There is no hard sell with them as they do not make any profit so give them a call and see what they can offer, I have read on hear that they are financed by banks which might be why when you quote them to bank owned creditors you get a favourable response. They helped me and gave me a lot of moral support as well, but do have a look at some other cases on here as you might find that you are in a position to dispute some debts which will enable you to pay off your undesputed debts quicker.
  15. I had defaults when I started with them and the CCJ was done whilst I was in the first stages, when you call them they will give you a reference number and arrange an appointment to call and go through everything in detail. When I gave this reference number to creditors a lot stopped adding interest and calling me in recognition that I was taking action and that I was attempting to pay them back, I was emotional calling them but they were very understanding and nice.
  16. At one time I also thought that I had only 1 option out and that I would be doing my family a favour... it is not true at all. As the previous posters have said talk to cccs (I did) and I paid the debts off over 3 years the calls and letters stopped after a couple of months on the payment plan. This is not the solution for everyone and had I seen this site then I would have fought some debt and definately the charges. But as soon as I tackled it I just got stronger. I only had 1 (out of 10) go for a CCJ I did not go to court I sent in details of my income and outgoings and how much I thought I could pay and the court agreed with me, they will not leave you destitute also once the court has decided what you pay they can not add interest or bother you for more so when my income increased and the other creditors got more they got nothing extra. Now I am out of the other end I am so glad I stuck it out and look at my daughter and can't think how she would have felt if I had left her. Any way you are certainly not alone, you have done nothing wrong, be brave and fight on no body can get anything out of you that you haven't you will get good advise and support here. Will be thinking of you..good luck.
  17. Oh My God stop please, had what seemed like a clever diet idea this morning, brought nothing but a slim a soup in for lunch and no money so I could not be tempted by the evil sandwich woman and her tasty wares.....unfortunately now so hungry I could knaw my own arm off, and a light choices tomato soup is not doing it for me ..... feeling a bit weak... light headed and drooling at the thought of tiger bread !!
  18. I am glad to hear that your little one is OK, reading your story did bring old feelings back, I too am OK now but at the lowest point in the small hours when there seams no way out then you can lose perspective. I think the thing about this site is realising that so many have similar problems and you are never alone however bad it gets. Debt is like being in a tunnel eventually if you keep going you will come out the other end.
  19. Dear Baz, just a quick note of support. I am shocked that this place has treated you so, I wonder what the local press would make of the fact that they have discriminated against you, can you imagine if a woman had been removed from the pool because (although they do not advertise it and were happy not to mention it to you until you had joined) they had an unofficial male only rule..... blokes are people too (so my hubby says) sorry I know this is hard on you I just wanted to say do not be scared as others have said they will not be dragging you to court anytime soon. I can not see the case reflecting very well on them if they did. I would push the discrimination point as well and under the circumstances any decent person would have handled this with more compasion you paid for services which were not as advertised and therefore have withdrawn from the contract, simple. Good luck
  20. Door step collectors... due to work I was re located from UK to a hot country a couple of years ago. I felt very smug when I told the DCA that they could send collectors at any time to my new location, in fact I would put an extra burger on the barbie ! not that they were ever going to send someone but the monkey on the phone was a bit put out that I was talking to him from my pool !
  21. I have a story, when dealing with a very persistent DCA they insisted that the letters I had sent them with my in come details and payment plan had not reached them and until they received a copy then they would continue to charge interest and call me relentlessly I had sent several copies of the letter recorded. A very snotty woman told me that it was tough luck and basically that they do not have to admit they got the letters it is up to me to prove it and that a recorded signature means nothing as it is a big company could be anywhere. Well I am ashamed to say I did get emotional... you know how it is when you feel everything is against you.. well I have a fax machine in my office so i told everyone it was broken and out of frustration I faxed the letter constantly to the company all day, after 6 hours and about 70 odd copies of the letter faxed they called me and begged me to stop, so you are now confirming receipt of my letter then I said... yes they said sheepishly.
