  1. Do you know how much the fees are for cars? Not just the listing fee but a final value fee too, can be a fair bit. But I understand what you're saying about a good will gesture, its just that this could be an expensive one
  2. I'm in the same boat. I'd love to be back in work. I might be able to cover the price increase of food in supermarkets if I did. It's getting crazy now. Every week everything goes up, I wish I'd bought a years worth 6 months ago
  3. I think ebay motors works the same as normal ebay, in that the seller can go through with a mutal agreement to cancel and he'll get his fees back without you paying them. have you spoken to the seller to explain the situation? He probably had under bidders that he can offer the car too, so he shouldn't be too bothered, certainly not from a legal view.
  4. you'll get great help here:)
  5. I'm not sure if different sites work differently, but the site we use for our email service allows us to block a specific senders address in so much that it doesn't stop the sender sending emails to us but we just don't receive them. So as far as the sender is conserned they are sending their emails and we are receiving them and they don't know any different.
  6. Lewis have been the most aggresive dca i've dealt with. They loved sending me red letters and telling me of their many intentions. I sent a CCA request and a letter telling them they can't send anyone round and it's now gone silent. It seems that once you show them that you know the rules then they become more reasonable. I hope this goes well for you All the best Happyfeet:)
  7. Hi Dodger, I hope you and your wife are still going strong. You'll both get off this crap, because that's what it is, crap. When you break the need for the drug, you'll be suprised how much you don't miss it. wish you both all the best Happyfeet:)
  8. ruby0167, Cravings are really really hard. If it's got too much then you can still tell us. We're here to help, not even set backs mean an end to your attempt, it just means starting again each time but each time you learn how not to fail. I'm really sorry, if you're still going strong, good on you for it, I just wanted to let you know incase you had a set back:)
  9. Hi flying doc, the upstairs toilet has had a problem with filling but not to excess, it was fixed a while ago, just turned the plastic screw fixed to the bottom of the arm with the ball on it (that's that most detailed explanation I can give:D) Apart from that, there's been nothing, no overflows dripping (plenty of birds moved in under the tiles:mad:) I'm going to keep checking every hour that I can and logging it
  10. Hi flyingdoc, I really don't understand this, so is that excessive to the point where it seriously needs investigating? we have no signs of leaks in the house at all, could this be the meter at fault?
  11. I don't understand how all these things work but I only used the cold if that makes a difference? I know it's a waste of water but I wanted to see what difference it made to the reading I've been checking every hour and the meter is clocking 25+ on the 2 digit red section on the left p/h (is this normal?). I haven't used anything apart from the bath to test it earlier. Yet when I switched it off it didn't move so either the meter is faulty or there's a leak in the house? ahhh:mad:# I'm going to keep reading it and logging it because compared to my neighbour this is crazy, something has or is going very wrong
  12. Thank you 42man:) The plot thickens. The reading before the bath was 02488.70, after the bath, 02488.92, so not much of a change. But an hour later it was 02489.15 and we've used no water at all. I met my neighbour outside and we checked her meter as she moved in exactly the same time as me and hers was 00322.72!!! she lives with just her 8 year old daughter, so even if that figure was doubled ours should be 00650. But there doesn't seem to be a leak, but the meter keeps going up when we don't use water. I just don't understand. We don't have a swimming pool that we fill everyday so where's the water going? I'm glad I sent the dispute letter now, and I'm also glad I didn't blame it on a faulty meter because I've just found an Anglian related website that says they charge £70 if they test the meter and cant find a fault!!! plus I've unearthed enough bad storys about Anglian overcharging to last me a life time. This will be an interesting clash I think:( I'll send a letter to the chairman aswell, plus, I'll take readings every few hours and log them now aswell. I'll pay my 00650. but no way 02489. Thank you everyone for helping me understand how all this works! I really appreciate all your efforts:)
  13. Hi 42man, I sent a letter of dispute to both their registered office in Huntingdon and customer service in Lincoln (thought it was cambridge) would the registered address be the same for the chairman?
  14. Thank you everyone, I feel like I'm getting somewhere:) I've gone back out and checked it and it hasn't changed, so no leak, I think? From what has been said I guess this is a faulty meter, in which case where do I stand legaly with the bill and how are Anglian likely to go about sorting this out? I've already sent the letters this morning diputing the bill and asking them to correct it. Is it worth typing out another letter explaining that I think the meter is faulty or should I just wait for their reply?
  15. Hi Pit bull, many thanks for your reply:) On your advice, I'm half way through testing for a leak, I'll check the meter again in half an hour and see if it's gone up. The bill says that the last reading was on 24/10/08 which read 1939. I've just checked it today at 13/01/09 and it says 2488. Is this an excessive amount for the time scale? I'm still learning the value of the readings but haven't quite got this around my head yet:confused:
  16. Mmmm... I'm not sure. Try again with a few of my posts:D
  17. Excellent:) Thank you, I've drafted a letter now to send to them at their office in Huntingdon and Cambridge. I've also drafted a letter to go to the consumer council of water just to back me up a little (thanks for the link flying doc:)) My only uncertain thoughts to this was the fact that in fairness we do owe 2 1/2 years worth of water. Which I will happily pay, but I've spoken to family and friends and their bills were around £250 - £300 per year for the same size house as ours (2 bed) So for our 2 1/2 years I would expect it to be maybe £900 maximum. Again I'd quite happily pay it in installments that we can afford if shown on seperate bills for each period each year so that I can see the breakdown. But from what has been said Anglain have put everything in 2 bills just for 2008 and started the readings from an incorrect figure. 2 million litres:eek: This has been a disaster right from the start:( But thanks everyone, I'll get these letters sent and let you know the response. Happyfeet:)
  18. I think that cashier may be in trouble with the boss:eek:
  19. Tuesday 10/02/09 1.58am please be right, please be right:confused:
