  1. I'll try. What happens to the balance with the admin fee assess and waivers? Have you been through each transaction and calculated the balances yourself? I know that's a lot of work, but it could shed some light on what's going on
  2. I can't help you technically but if you need to let off steam, please feel free:)
  3. Ditto that Freaky . Welcome Dizzy and look forward to seeing you around
  4. I'm not advising that people should settle for less, I'm just saying that for this process you need nerves of steel in some cases, and not everybody is willing to put themselves through it from start to finish
  5. Welcome Fido. I would recommend you spend time reading as many threads as possibly. I'm sure I've seen a thread recently regarding Paypal, but can't find it for you. Keep reading and somebody will come along with some advice soon
  6. Hi Crazy, It is likely that they may retrieve your overdraft amount from the charges, although I'm not 100% sure that they will. Like Saintly says, if you start the thread in the Halifax forum, Halifax customers will be able to give you the benefit of their experience and will probably be able to answer your question properly Jo
  7. Looks like somebody a bit more knowledgable than me is on their way, but Good Luck, Good Luck, Good Luck
  8. Hi Logic, Welcome and good luck. Ditto the advice from Rae, people will be able to keep an eye on you there Jo
  9. Ditto that advice. Normally the banks are saying that if they don't hear within 8 weeks they will consider the matter closed, however, I believe that is a reasonably new tactic. I personally would say start again, but that is only my personal opinion Jo
  10. Hiya, Remember the most key point is that you have to agree that you were in breach of contract. This has been the stumbling point for those cases where the banks have won Jo
  11. I know what you mean, but sometimes, it's a case of weighing up how much more of the process you can take against the offer made (for some people). I think it depends on what the amount means to that person and good luck to anybody who is willing to settle for a little less
  12. Personally, I think it's a personal decision and individually we should decide what we are prepared to take
  13. Well done you, I hope they settle quickly for you. And you're right, people do need to hear as many success stories as possible
  14. Right I still haven't sent the schedule of charges. This is because I can't make up my mind what it should look like as this isn't a straight forward charges situation. There are 5 x £15 in charges, but then there are numerous transactions where they have taken 13p here, there and everywhere. Also, there are 5 transactions where they claim that to payments were not applied to the account correctly. What should I put on the schedule of charges and how should I lay it out???
  15. Hi Wynn, Just a suggestion but it may be a good idea to start a thread in the Halifax forum, that way others who are currently dealing with them will be able to give you advice and support. Jo
  16. Sorry to hijack, but I am handling claims for nearly every member of my immediate family, would I also be able to act as a lay representative or does there need to be a specific reason to do this?
  17. I totally agree Pete, it would have been a lot easier for me a few years ago when we were knee deep in debt.
  18. Yup that's the one, I was just coming back to post it. Well worth keeping an eye on that one Jo
  19. Hi UUN & Curlyben, I read somewhere last night that Moorcroft may not have a license to collect debts. I'll see if I can find it again and I'll post it for you to read Jo
  20. Where did you get your info from Grumpy?
  21. Don't hold your breathe Squarebob, you'll go blue and pass over to the other side . A&L, amongst other banks, don't have a conscience. They probably don't even read the letters that are sent by us. I know it took HFC three attempts to actually answer what I had said in my first letter.

    Can I Claim?

Hi MEOB, I think you can claim beyond six years, but it is a bit more complex than claiming for the past six years. There are some threads around covering this, so I would recommend reading through as much information as possible before deciding whether or not to take this on Jo
  23. Hi UUN, When you "bump" it takes your posting to the top of the forum to try to get somebody to notice it Jo
