  1. Hi DK, You don't need to worry about bundles just yet. Keep reading around. You won't need your bundle until you have a court date, so use the time to familiarise yourself with what's what. I'm slightly behind you with Abbey, so I'm subscribing to your thread to see how you go Jo

Ha, you guys are killin me. It's far too late for me to come up with anything nearly as funny, but I can't seem to drag myself off this site
  3. I know I shouldn't, but that made me chuckle, £8 to cook Sunday lunch . However all jokes aside, if that is the case, that is incredibly expensive. I pay £50 per month on a key meter and I've got a washing machine and tumble dryer on the go constantly, plus numerous electrical items that the occupants of this household insist on using and then leaving on. Stick to your guns, only question is, how are you going to get it checked?
  4. I've never seen it so I can't really comment, although I must admit I thought you were referring to somebody doing it for you, but it's late (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ). I originally started off on Moneysavingexpert and then defected onto here, and I've never looked back. This site, in my humble opinion, is the best thing I've ever come across
  5. Too complicated for me to even try to understand, so well done for trying. Have you tried phoning them to find out what the KWH price is? I did this when British Gas tried to get me to convert to them and they were telling me how cheap they were. I phoned up EDF and they gave me a complete breakdown of what everything costs me. However, all I was doing was comparing prices so I'm not sure how to work out value for money
  6. Hi PPL I'm at roughly the same stage as you with HFC (part of HSBC), so I'm encouraged to hear that I may have an offer soon. My claim is only for £240 and they had previously offered £75, I'm sure they will pull out all the stops to offer me more than £100 . Keep up the good work though. I can almost feel how proud your mum and dad will be when you get this sorted for them
  7. Okay many people have managed to claim back further than six years. The arguement is that the bank has deceived you by taking money for charges that you, at the time, thought were lawful. You are now aware that these charges are considered unlawful. I would say it is a personal decision as to how far you go back, but personally, I am claiming back 6 years from the date of the request for the statements. There is a little bit more of an arguement required to go back beyond six years but like I said, if you read around, you will see what is involved. I would suggest that you recalculate your charges, using the spreadsheets on this site and use the template for the Letter Before Action. Everybody will tell you that there really is no need to use a third party to claim back the charges. There is more than enough information and support on this site to get you through from start to finish
  8. Hi Sandra, Sounds like you and your son have had a bit of a rough ride. You're in the right place now. I'm not an expert in this area, but I'm sure somebody will be along shortly to give you some solid advice. Good Luck and keep posting Jo

You never know, it might put a smile on his face
  10. Welcome Caroline, You can actually claim back further than six years so don't worry about that. What I would suggest is that you have a good read around the FAQ's. Take a couple of days to read around, take a deep breath and then start again. Have you sent any letters so far?

I'm hanging in there my feathered friend. I spend most of my time hanging around my post box. One of these days the postie is gonna get the fright of his life when I leap out and grab whatevers in his hands
  12. That is fantastic news, well done. I have a claim going with Barclays for my dad, so I will certainly bare in mind your little nuggets of advice
  13. Hey it worked, that's fab thanks Kelly, I'll tip your scales for that
  14. Hi Nic, For my own benefit as well as Superfly's, Lloyds are trying to say that no contract has been breached, how would you go about proving otherwise? Jo
