  1. I do not know your name I do not know your name, but I know you died I do not know from where you came, but I know you died Your uniform, branch of service, it matters not to me Whether Volunteer or Conscript, or how it came to be That politicians' failures, or some power-mad ambition Brought you too soon to your death, in the name of any nation You saw, you felt, you knew full well, as friend and foe were taken By bloody death, that your life too, was forfeit and forsaken Yet on you went and fought and died, in your close and private hell For Mate or Pal or Regiment and memories never to tell It was for each other, through shot and shell, the madness you endured Side by side, through wound and pain, and comradeship assured No family ties, or bloodline link, could match that bond of friend Who shared the horror and kept on going, at last until the end We cannot know, we were not there, it's beyond our comprehension To know the toll that battle brings, of resolute intention To carry on, day by day, for all you loved and hoped for To live in peace a happy life, away from bloody war For far too many, no long life ahead, free of struggle and pain and the gun And we must remember the price that was paid, by each and every one Regardless of views, opinions aside, no matter how each of us sees it They were there and I cannot forget, even though I did not live it I do not know your name, but I know you died I do not know from where you came, but I know you died. Such a sad time. God bless everyone of them. And to my own hero, my father, 2 years to the day since he left us. R.I.P. Pops.

  3. The continuing demise of the Bear Garden. It used to be such a great source of fun and entertainment. Sigh.
  4. On Friday morning, the time and date will reach, 11.11.11 11.11.11
  5. I had to do a job today in Britains most exspensive private home. It sold in August 2011 for £140 million, thats £140,000,000. How the other half live.
  6. Hi peeps. Anybody answer a question for a friend. He paid a new landlord £220 towards a deposit, with the balance of £630 to be paid 4 days later, with intentions to move in 8 days from the first meet. After 13 hours, he had decided that he did not want the room after all, and emailed the landlord accordingly. The landlord is refusing to return the deposit, stating that the receipt clearly states that it is non refundable under any circumstances. Can people do this? The landlord was not out of pocket in any way. Thank you.
  7. I was in Thailand and witnessed the floods first hand during Sep/Oct. Cars, houses, and testicles, were floating off down the road. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alaOTZuNNI0
  8. Cant tell you how much this story annoys me. Could only happen in this country. On being awarded his compensation, he replied, thank you very much. I bet he did.
  9. I cant for the life of me see why they bother to play with a ball at all. Pure thuggery, no skill what so ever. Should be last man standing wins. Yes, the Welsh can hold the heads high. High enough to put on their woolley jumpers.
  10. Thank goodness that's over. Now we can get back to the beautiful game on a Saturday.

  12. A funny thread, but a sad indictment of our rapidly deteriorating standards of driving.
  13. Once again it was motorway centre lane hoggers. Adds ages to a journey.
  14. Overhearing a man in my local Boots superstore asking a shop assistant, what size does my daughter need?, shes 8. How the shop assistant kept a straight face when replying, i don't know sir, i have never met your daughter was hilarious. Made my day.
  15. Just goes to show that you CAN buy success. The oil billions that are being pumped into MCFC like there is no tomorrow, are being paid for by YOUR high fuel bills. Its not sour grapes, city were superb. But i fear the game will suffer long term with Chelsea and Man city buying everything.
  16. Although a SD has been issued, it doesn't automatically lead to a BR petition. The council, like HMRC, who made me BR for a similar amount, have little human intervention when it comes to these matters. They just keep pressing buttons from 1 to 100 until there are no more buttons to press and the trap door opens. If i were you i would start making payments, and stick to it, whenever possible. They wont refuse it. And you can pay online. A BR petition, can be defended like any court claim. If the judge sees you are making payments, and you are being reasonable, you have a chance to get the BR order suspended subject to showing you can clear the debt in a reasonable time. If you say they wont listen, the judge will just say you should have made some payments anyway, and will almost certainly grant the BR. At the end of the day, you must try to avoid this BR possibility at all costs. It can be very expensive.
  17. That's a very funny clip. Joking aside, airline travel is incredibly cheap. Of my £440 flight, £225 is paid in taxes. So i get a 13,000 mile, 26 hour flight for £215. Unbelievable.
  18. I had Etihad Airlines on the phone this morning offering me all sorts of cheap deals. To little to late im afraid. I have booked with another airline. Just wanted to prove we dont have to put up with bad service anymore. RANT RANT RANT.
