:D Served my claim from my county court last week, and today got an ominous plain white envelope addressed to me. I looked on the back and recognised the Balloon Street address, and feared the worst, but out fell a cheque for £1437! I'm over the moon!

Now I'm just looking for how to finish up with the claim procedure now they've paid up.

The whole procedure took since January! Now to serve my claim to Abbey...

Hi,

Can I ask did they say that they were going to defend the case or just send you the cheque??

They've just said they're defending my case and trying to find out what the norm is on how they play it!!

Well done anyway:)

With me the money was just put straight into my account and a letter sent to advise of this.

They sent me the cheque (I had closed the account three years ago!) Along with a letter saying basically 'We hope this resolves the matter.'

A couple of days later I got a letter from the court saying Smile had paid up and to fill in a form (included) to end the proceedings. It's all very cut-and-dried. I'm serving Abbey next, I don't think they'll be as easy.
