Hi

Abbey called me last night with an offer of £4249 - my claim totals £5292 including my court costs - I have to call her back today and I don't know what to do.

It's up to you but I think I'll try negotiating for a bit more.

Good Luck

Cassie

Have you looked at this

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/announcement.php?f=84&a=84

I believe a lot of people are doing it, and claims for time range between 20 to 30 hours (one person went for 50 hours and got it). I would recomend a the 20 - 30 hour route, buts its up to you.

I would negotiate hard.

hi, i am getting extremely frustrated with abbey!!! i have gone down the usual route to claim back £4670, sent all letters and i am now at the FOS stage. i have sent in my claim form and recieved a letter back stating they are dealing with my case. it says in the procedures that it may take 6-9 months but i phoned them and they said it probably wont take that long. does anyone know on average how long it takes? do the FOS have time scales for banks to reply to their letters?would it be quicker to go through the courts or should i just stick with the FOS? this whole thing started 26/2/07.

Hi Layla123 I was going to go that way but the 6-9 months put me off, so I went to court and this is where i'm at the offer stage, as of today. Started court action in Feb.

TAKE THEM TO COURT IT'S THE QUICK WAY.

hi, that seems to be a long time if it started in feb. the FOS said it wouldnt take 6-9 months when i phoned them, thats a maximum timescale. but i asked if he had an average timescale and he said he couldnt put a time to it, it depends on the bank. i might stick with the FOS it doesnt cost anything. still unsure yet though.

I've just called her and she upped the offer by £50!!

I told her I wanted it all and she said she wouldn't be able to offer me 100%
