Hi,

A couple of queries ..

1. I have paid off my Vanquis card in full and have telephoned them tonight to request it is cancelled and

they told me I can't cancel the card because interest is accrued in arrears and therefore there will be outstanding interest owed.

They could not tell me how much until my statement is ready next week but estimate it at £10,

therefore because they cannot tell me they say I cannot cancel.

Can they do this?

2. I have two billing deferred charges,

one in November and

one in February.

They have told me this is just general interest,

however on both counts they have also added interest so there are two charges showing.

I have always paid in excess of the minimum payment and never missed or been late paying my card (always paid early),

but generally haven't paid it off.

I am a Gold account holder but never had more than £400 on my account.

The T & C's say they charge interest from the day of the transaction

so how can they say there is a deferred billing charge?

What is the billing deferred charges and can they do this?

Thanks in advance

1 is the case with any credit card you have been running an interest accruing balance on, you will always need to pay the full balance payment for 2 consecutive months to clear completely to clear in full. Sad but true I'm afraid. I'm sure someone will help with 2.

Hi

Thanks for that. I have no objection to paying the balance and paid in full over two weeks ago. However they are saying i cant close the account until my new statement would be due incase there is any outstanding interest from back interest, yet their T & Cs say you can close the account at any time and pay in full. Its so annoying.
