Queries and errors on my Equifax report. What do I do?

Hi all,

 

I have a number of debts that I am either paying by arrangement, or disputing because of dodgy CCAs. I went through the horrendous process of registering for my credit report and downloaded a recent version.

 

I do not understand one entry:

 

1) CL finance customer ref xxxx hp account outstanding £6000 ish. Defaulted in 2011. I have no idea what this is and I do not have any debts that match this amount.Certainly haven't had a default notice and CL haven't been chasing me for this amount. There is a second entry for CL finance customer ref xxxx (same ref. as above) hp account outstanding 2000 which is correct.

 

Some of the others are interesting:

 

2) Apex credit card (was NW mastercard) defaulted 2008 - 3 years to go? Has Apex bought this one?

 

3) Default dates on some of the entries are after I the dates when I raised disputes with the companies because of dodgy / no paperwork. Can this be challenged as per the dispute letter template?

 

4) Some entries refer to defaults for which I haven't received any default notices.

 

I would be very grateful for some guidance please.

Hi Rocky,

The best thing you can do here is to post up a copy

of the entries after removing indentifying information

leave in the dates, it's much easier to analyse the

meaning of the file.
