Hi everyone

 

I recieved a letter last week from the RBS stating that they are closing my account as of the end of september and i must make contact regarding paying off my £1300 overdraft.Previous to this letter i have recieved nothing informing me that they arent/werent happy with my banking habits.to say im a little bit miffed is an understatement as this will mean a black mark against my name and thus causing future problems.

I do go over my agreed limit quite often,mainly due the the banks fault e.g,

 

taking royalties payments on different dates

internet banking not up to date

showing money in account that hasnt yet cleared

 

Anyway i assumed that they were happy making a minmum of £40 per month from me and me not questioning the charge,but this letter from them has really annoyed me and forced my hand,enough is enough:evil:

I am sending the SAR letter tomorrow and with the time it takes to come back i will have hopefully done a lot of homework and had some great advice from your good selves:)

 

Do i have to apply twice if i want the accounts of my credit card ?(which account is closed)

 

Well im of re-reading the FAQs as it will take a few reads to start to sink in:oops:

hi colin from what i've read and the letter i received from the bank as soon as you put in your first letter then no action will be taken on your account until the matter is resolved so they cant close your account yet. while you have this extra time open up another account and think about having all monies and bills coming from that one. hope this helps.

Could you confirm that the first letter you talk about is the SAR letter or the prelim letter?
