Hi there

I bought a TomTom One V4 from Sainsbury's three months ago, I haven't used it until the other day, when I tried it the speaker is crackly when using sound. Apparently this is a common fault.

Went to Sainsbury's with TomTom and receipt, they told me I have to return it to TomTom myself!. Now is it me or is this scandulous, I bought it from Sainbury's surely it should be their problem. I told that to electricals manager he said 'oh its the same with a few of our brands'

Is this right?

Nope. It's the retailer who is legally obliged to deal with it under the Sale of Goods Act.

Legally you're initially entitled to a replacement or a repair - depends on the cost and otherwise viability of either.
