Little 'ol me VS First Direct

Well, I started by asking for a copy of my statements from First Direct. (They don't keep all of them online, only the last 18 mths) and they asked me for £7.50 per statement! I was outraged, and they eventually agreed to charge me £50, which I shall be claiming back!! They came, approx 50 statements all in separate envelopes! I ask you!

I have sent letter 1 and letter 2 by registered post, so there is no excuse!! They are still refusing to accept liability at the moment. My online county court claim is ready, and if I don't hear within the next couple of days, I shall submit it. I have done this before and it is easier than you think! The big firms want you to think it's hard, but it isn't! I have also represented myself in court when trying to collect maintenance and won!! So go ahead, it's time we all stopped feeling scared!!

Why didnt you use the DPA letter- would've only cost you £10- if anything at all at FD returned my cheque and sent statements by courier

Thanks, I know now!! I am still awaiting a reply from FD. I have everything ready, but I want to give them enough timeto reply.

Still haven't heard anything from FD. I gave them 7 days in my letter which was up last week, last Thursday in fact. Should I give them a little longer? My online case is ready to file.

Well I've filed my claim today for £2900 including interest. It seems they are hanging on to a few, so we will see what happens next!

My claim has gone to be 'checked' and it will then be sent to FD. There seems to be a lot of us waiting, I wonder if they have anything up their sleeve??

Still waiting, my claim has been issued, but no acknowledgement as yet

Checked again this morning, still no acknowledgement. Has anyone seen the papers this weekend? Lots of press coverage about a judicial review. About time!!

Still awaiting acknowledgement. I bet the claims are rolling in! Staff will be on holiday too, so it may get to 14 days!! Anyone else had their claim acknowledged yet?

Hi yes mine was issued on the 24th and acknowledged on the 3rd - recieved half offer yesterday so in some cases it is talking a little longer

So yours took 11 days in all, then five days for the half noffer...I've still a bit of waiting!!

Claim was acknowledged on the 10th August. Anyone know how long before the first offer comes through?

Mine was Ack'd by FD on the 8th Aug, letter from DG Sols arrived yesterday (10th). Posted thanks but no thanks letter same day, faxed same letter to them this morning just to make sure;)

 

Expecting letter offering full amount tomorrow or Mon:D

Still no letter, but it is the weekend and August, so I will have to be patient! I am away on Sunday until Friday, so I hope a letter will be awaiting me when I return.

Mine acknowledged 9th 50% offer today

Letter received from solicitors on the 16th offering half. Letter sent back refusing on the 19th August (Been away for a few days) Watch this space!

Letter received yesterday (22nd) offering full amount!!! Replied, crossed out the confidentiality clause. Just waiting now!!

What are others doing after they have been paid out? Staying with the samr bank or moving? If charges remain the same, can we claim again?????

Still not received any money or a reply to my letter stating I would accept their offer. (I crossed out the confidentiality clause, I never could keep a secret!)!! They got that on the 23rd. Should I persue the moneyclaim line or not? Anyone?

It's only been 3 days since you replied to them, and it is bank holiday weekend. I'd give it a little longer and maybe follow up with a telephone call (record it if you can) to check they recieved your response.

We used the data protection letter but omitted the paragraph about the £10 and still received the statements (6 years worth)! It worked with Barclays too. About to start the court claim as surprise, surprise, they haven't offered a penny (£3,208).
