I have an invalid default notice fromAMEX plus a notice of termination. RMA on back, but in view of this I think I am home and try? Just waiting for their next move

I would resist the temptation to tell them about the duff DN in case they reissue a new one. I know I know that you are going to say "but they've terminated the agreement" but I would wait for the issue of court proceedings which is a double termination and stops any wriggle room before a sympathetic judge..............

and yes you are still liable for any actual arrears at the point the DN was issued.

You may receive different advice to your query as people have different experiences and opinions. Please use your own judgement in deciding whose advice to take.

If in doubt seek advice from a qualified insured professional. Any advice I have offered you is done so on an informal basis, without prejudice or liability.

I had already gleefully told Moorcroft about it, so there is nothing more to be lost by telling AIC about it now.

What I am pondering is whether the best thing to do is to make a Calderbank offer and try and see if I can knock it on the head. I suspect that may be wishful thinking.
