I've an action going through with Abbey at the moment, and they have indicated their intention to defend the claim in full (£2,000 + £500 interest). I have today received a letter offering full and final settlement of 50% (£1,250-ish) if I agree to drop the claim.

Tempting, as I could do with the money, and it would come through quickly, instead of having to wait for a court date and judgment...

I suspect I'll fight on to the bitter end, but have to have a chat about it with my wife, as it affects both of us...

I am quite a newbie here but have you read other peoples threads? the banks are offering 50% you turn it down, I think there are a few examples of letters available, and they usually offer the whole amount just before you actually are due to go to court.

Its your money, dont let them have a penny of it :p

Abbey's solicitor's offer letter came with an email address, and an invitation to reply using that address, so I've replied.

and rejected their offer.

bring it on...
