Hi all again, i am not so hot in the it way of things lol, i was in libary trying to work out how i use the template for the data protection act letter, how do i put in my details etc.

 

can anyone help please?

Hello Emma and welcome.

 

You'll need to copy and paste the letter into your own word processor then change it from there.

 

Could you start a new thread on your bank specific forum to update progress and ask any questions you might have. Cheers :)

basically it just sets out the wording there for you, you'll have to copy and paste all the letter into another program like microsoft word, or if you dont have that, then wordpad will do

Open the template letter, highlight the text to be copied then paste it into Word or a similar program. You can then edit the personal details to suit - make sure you keep a copy saved on your computer (I file all mine with the bank name, date in reverse order and template name - e.g. 'Halifax 20060703 DPA.doc' so that they are automatically sorted into the right order) and then print off a copy to send to the bank.

Halifax Visa (#1) Data Protection Act sent - statements arrived - £350 so far

Halifax Visa (#2) Data Protection Act sent - refunded £170
