Hi hautecouture.

Don't panic!

First of all, this is probably scare tactics from the DCA (Debt Collection Agency) to try and get your friend to contact them. It's unlikely they will turn up, if they do they have no right of entry and you can (in your own words) tell them to kindly leave. If this is just a DCA that is - can you be more specific about who it is and what it is about?

Second - no - there is no risk to you. This is your pal's debt, not yours.

Please post again - and please don't panic - you can get this sorted out and this is the place to do it.

:)

Hi There

Hippy-Chick is spot on

DCA's talk out their bottoms at the best of times.

as the owner of the property you have the right to tell them to leave.

if they refuse you can call the police

Hi hautecouture

Yes, if the Sky TV was in his name, it's his debt. If your pal wants help sorting things out, point him in our direction. You shouldn't have to go through this aggro on his behalf.
