Afternoon everyone, Came across an old BOS preference account statement and it got me thinking about a car loan that I took out in 1999 for £7500, where they gave me the account when taking out the finance. I don't have any credit agreement or statements for the car. Don't remember if I took any other cover on the finance though ! Only thing I have is the account number for the preference account. Is there any way to try and track down an old agreement to see if I was mis-sold ppi? or is that not how it works ? thanks z

Good afternoon I am currently in the process of collating and organising my PPI claims and I have a query about one that was taken out along with the dreaded Home Shopping Personal Finance account back in 2009. Looking at the documentation, the acceptance letter for Creditcare states that this is cover for 'Credit Card number:xxxxxxx'. Now, when I received the letter that had the Visa Debit card attached for this preference account it states the following: "Here is your new visa debit card for your preference account" "Your new Bank of Scotland Visa Debit card is NOT a credit card and does not replace any credit cards you may have". My original preference account conditions of use also show that this is a personal account with a visa debit card. So my query is, could I claim mis-selling of PPI (Creditcare cover) on the premise that it is to protect repayments on a credit card, the demands and needs statement also references 'credit card', however the account is not a credit card account. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I was on the TPS Corporate site earlier today to see who they allow access to their lists. One of the Companies is Tracesmart Ltd, Tracesmart offer many services but one is a tracing service for debtors. They also offer a service called “TracelQ”, this allows DCA's to log into their systems and trace debtors. So you register with the TPS giving them your private home phone number with address to stop telepests, TPS then allow a debt tracing Company (Tracesmart) to access this information, who then download & store all of your personal details, Tracesmart then allow DCA's to access their systems (for a fee) which they call “TracelQ” with your TPS registered private phone number & address included within their search for debtors. Although the TPS does not ask for your name, it does ask for your Post Code & House Number/Name while registering new telephone numbers. A DCA can cross reference a few other traces & match your name, address & TPS Registered Ex-Directory phone number etc. http://corporate.tpsonline.org.uk/index.php/tps/licensees http://www.tracesmart.co.uk/trace/debtor-tracing Stigman
