  1. Hi Slick, I am going to make an offical complaint to Barclay Card. At the moment, the only joy I seem to get is through Equifax! Everytime I send a 'reminder', the amount of paper I enclose is getting more and more, as I keep copying all the previous letters, copy of cheque, rejection letter for cheque, you get the picture! As soon as the final is removed from credit file, I will write to their complaints dept. I guess this in the central London one? On other forums, there is LOADS of different address for Barclays!! The first letters I sent were to London, but the ONLY reply I got was from a PO Box in Northampton!!
  2. No reply from Barclay Card, (suprise, suprise), opened a case with Wquifax, including copy of Barclay Card letter. They sent to 'third party' and was removed yesterday. Opened a second case on the second card yesterday, sent to 'third party'. Will wait and see if they do the same!! Wouldn't mind, but the letter from Barclay Card, basically says 'we were in the wrong, the account is statue barred and we shouldn't put ap markers on yoiur credit file.' I would try and upload it if I can - it's so comical!!
  3. Just found this 'Freepost' address for complaints! Customer Relations Barclays Bank PLC 1 Churchill Place FREEPOST RTLA-CSUE-TCHC London E14 5HP
  4. A update - One Braclaycard account disappered from my credit file, so wrote to Barclaycard with copy of their letter, asking for the second card to be removed. £50 cheque from Barclaycard was returned as unpaid? Just looked on Equifax, and Barclaycard account has put the account back onto system, with July 2013, showing the first AP marker? What do I do now? I'm not bothered about the £50 'gesture' cheque, but removing the marker and then replacing it?
  5. I was dealing with Barclaycard regarding adverse data on my credit file. The address I got given was: Barclaycard Customer Relationship Unit PO Box 5402 Northampton NN4 1ZR Prior to this I was sending letters to Churchill Place and Safferon Way, Leicester. Hope this helps?!
  6. Thanks for the replies!! As Fkofille says, is it best to write to them and ask them to remove my details? I feel like writing to First Plus, about how good their 'broker' is, trying to get me to claim back my ppi from them! It is annoying, the minute you close the accout, another company shows its face!!
  7. Hi all! Not sure if this is in the right thread, but just need some words of advice. I keep getting calls from a company called 'Next Step Money' based in Hull. I got to speak to one of their reps today, and wasn't shocked to find they are a ppi reclaim company. The worrying thing is they knew EVERYTHING about my loan, that I have just paid off with First Plus. They knew the original amount, loan term and names on the account. Apparently they are brokers for First Plus? My question is - how do they know so much about me? - the loan was taken out direct? And where have they got my number from? - I am on the tps. I have complained to the tps and ico, so will see what happens! Like I say, it was such a shock, I ended up speechless!
  8. I have checked my credit file, and the last updates (markers etc.) all seem to be from May. Is this normal - all my accounts appear to be the same? I thought the credit file was always up to date?
  9. Following my reminder, I have finally recieved a reply! The letter basically says, that my current address is not what they have on their records - I have moved since but I did tell them, so the previous reply they sent out was to the address on their records. They have agreed to remove any data from my credit records. And best of all, they sent me a cheque for £50. as an apology!!! I'm so glad this mess is finally over, and I can draw a line under the whole situation. I know I must keep checking the credit files until it is clear, but hopefully it won't take too long!!
  10. Latest update.... Phoned at lunchtime, agirl answers, yes it has been done but it's not on the system...put on hold for nearly 10 minutes. 'Do you mind if I call you back?' she says, I offer to phone them, but she would rather phone me. Two hours later, she does phone back with a figure. I ask how to pay, she replys, 'any credit card or bank transfer, but we don't take Barclay Card!' I then pay straight away, over the phone with a credit card (the money to clear the loan was in my savings account), she gives me a confirmation number, tells me to cancel direct debit, as they 'can't do it at our end'? Confirmation letter in the post. And that's it. 7 years and 2 months of payments to First Plus over. It seems like they have got there act together a bit, maybe due to all the complaints! To be honest, I was worried about First Plus due to all the trouble I have read about, and as I am hoping to move house in the next 2 months, I thought they would halt everything!
  11. A little update - well nothing at all!! I have not heard anything from Barclay Card. I sent the letter that Brigader kindly drafted, to the data controller at the Churchill Place, London address. I am starting to think it should have gone to the address that is on the credit files - Nottingham I think? (without checking!) Should I have recieved even an acknowledgment? I posted both letters on the 8th June. Also - when will my credit files be updated? Should I check again on a weekly basis, or just monthly? Many thanks for any advice. Bannister007.
  12. I phoned again today. apparently it takes 7 working days from request, so if I phone AGAIN tomorrow, it will be on their system. It should arrive by post on Friday, according to their customer services. We will see!..........................
  13. Thanks, Surfer01. I bet if I wanted to take the loan to the next house, they would jump at the chance. When I mentioned this to my bank, they couldn't understand it, as most banks can give a settlement figure over the phone!
  14. Hi all! I have 6 months left to run on my First Plus secured loan. I am in the process of selling my house and don't want to take the loan with me - I want shot of it and First Plus for good. I have been paying the loan for the past 7 years, claimed back the ppi etc. I was just wondering what the final settlement may be? My credit file shows £800 remaing on the loan. I have wrote to them, but when phoneing to chase them this morning, I got told to be patient!!! Many thanks, Bannister007:roll:
  15. Brigader, I can't thank you enough! I know that a lot of people say not to sign my name, does it matter on this letter? - Just thought I'd ask to be on the safe side! The letter is great, and worded so well ~ It's nice to think that there are people out there that will spend there time helping complete strangers. Thank you, Brigader. I will let you know what happens next.
  16. I would be so grateful if you could help draft a letter! Everyone on here has been so helpful, I don't know how I can repay you!
  17. Yes, the Equifax report shows 'AP' from June 2009 to now. Does the credit file not show data before this date? Regarding the dispute, do I just contact Equifax and tell them that I dispute the Barclay card debts? Many thanks for all your help!
  18. Thanks Brigadier, I have checked my credit files on Experian, Equifax and Noodle (I believe this is callcredit?) The Barclaycards are showing on the Equifax report only. I also notice that the Barclaycards are registered as a previous address that I left in 2002. Could this be the reason why I haven't heard anything? What would be the correct wording to put on the credit file? Do I deny any knowledge of the debt? I will happily make a donation to the site, as a thank you for all your help!
  19. Also, on a different note, I notice in my credit file, I had an 'Egg' card which I paid off and closed the account in 2007. I see that this was part of Barclaycard. Why did they not pick up on this back in 2004, when I took out the Egg card??
  20. Thanks, Brigadier, Both the crediters on the cra are Barclaycard. By placing a statement on my cra, would I be opening up a can of worms? I would of gladly paid the outstanding debt as it was my debt to start with, but Barclaycard just didn't seem interested. Also, is 'Call Credit' a credit checking agency? On the credit report, call credit and equifax appear a lot, while experian doesn't appear as much.
  21. Many thanks for your quick replys.. I have checked both accounts on checkmyfile, and neither of them have a default date. I would of thought, if I missed so many payments, wouldn't Barclaycard come chasing me for the debts? (total of both cards is approx £1900.). After speaking to my partner, we decided to not carry on the payments, due to the fact that we didn't know how much was outstanding or owing! we never had a statement. In reality, I could of added up all the payment slips and deducted the original sum, but as Barclaycard didn't seem intrested, we stopped paying! Also, is it normal, that before June 2008, Call Credit has no history, and June 2009, Equifax has no history on the account? Many thanks!
  22. Hi to all! First time post, but been following the various threads for a long time! To cut a long story short, I am thinking of moving house later this year, so checked my credit file using 'checkmyfile'. I have 2 Barclaycards showing up on the file. Both with the letters AR across months for the past 5 years. I paid 'Eurodebt' back in 1999, to sort out my finances regarding debts, and they did (for a fee). I was paying weekly, the Barclaycards by going into a branch each week with a paying in book. Following 2 house moves, I wrote to Barclaycard, with my new address, asking for the amount to pay the accounts off in full, but never recieved a reply. I then stopped paying (not sure why), that was back in 2003. Never heard nothing from them. I have taken out loans, credit cards, mobile phone contracts and never had a problem. I would like to know, I guess this will never clear off my credit report? And will it affect me getting a new mortgage when I sell my house? Keep up the good work, Thanks in advance, Bannister007
