Court would be along way off anyway.most dont go anywhere near the places because it costs them money and you have so many legal protections. You cannot keep thinking of "what if" . Fact is their treatment of you is a disgrace and cannot be tolerated any longer. Therefore i would get as many official authorities involved as i could. maybe also visit the CAB?

Hi...stay off the phone to them and refuse to answer any security questions. They have no legal powers over you. Their treatment of you whilst on benefits is disgraceful and they should be reported to all the authorities. £1 per month would be enough for someone on benefits. if they dont like it then tough.Its only what a court would order anyway.

Next time any goon shows their face then tell them to get lost and call the police if they refuse. If you genuinely do not owe this debt then its time to get every official authority you can think of involved including the police (not 999)

In my view the problem is one of a complete communication breakdown between both parties as a result of the threats that DCA's like to use in their letters. If you are threatened in life then you will fight back (physically or none physically) that is a natural human response and why humans have survived for thousands of years. DCA's in general are becoming more hysterical as a result of the economic collapse and even more desperate as a result of people now knowing their rights on the internet. People are effectively bust these days and the DCA industry is finding out that getting money out of people is like getting blood out of a stone. Therefore their threats start pushing the boundary of what they think they can get away with. But they are now finding out that if they are told to get lost then that is what they must do weather they like it or not. People are answerable to the courts in this country not the DCA's. In short, no reason for DCA's to even exist at all and the sooner they all shut up shop once and for all the better.

Just sit back and wait. the emphasis is now on Go Debt to produce what you are legally entitled to. if not forthcoming then the account is in dispute and if they carry on harassing you can be reported to all the various authorities.

The thing is that no one is liable to your company or any other debt collection company for that matter. they are liable to the court system if it ever went that far and as we know most dca's dont go anywhere near courts because of the costs involved and knowing that the debtor has many legal rights and protections. Of course people should repay debt if they can. that goes without saying. but for those that cannot it is the court system that they have to explain themselves to Mr Rhodes not your company. If your company decides to buy up debts then more the fool you for doing so. waste of your companies money if you ask me. We encourage everyone to avoid communications with dca's and that goes for your company as well. You are answerable to all the various authorities in this country that are there to protect people in debt and we do all we can to ensure that the various authorities clamp down on your rotten industry like a ton of bricks Mr Rhodes.

I felt strongly enough to sign up and comment on this thread after reading it for the past 10 mins or so, With the greatest respect to you Mr Rhodes, most DCA's threaten and intimidate people on the phone. not saying yours does specifically but the vast majority do and that is why is it always encouraged to stay off the phone to them. In terms of reputation, the industry that you are a part of could not be any lower than what it is.
